cccc,

I use Tofu. It does exactly what it should and nothing more.

cccc,

Ah didn’t know that. The phone is the only Apple device I use so there’s probably a heap of tips and tricks I’m in the dark about.

cccc,

That’s ridiculous given there were also four world cups last year across cricket, soccer and rugby league.

cccc,

He’s not used to having anyone in front of him anymore.

I've just created my perfect automated music setup, including getting new recommendations

I recently decided to start taking on the challenge of selfhosting and curating my music collection. I originally started looking at Lidarr as I am already a big fan of Radarr and Sonarr, but it wasn’t really what I was looking for. I’m not often seeking out full albums, and am more often finding my music by listening to...

cccc,

I’ve got Navidrome feeding Substreamer on iOS. Works pretty well only it has a bit of a buffering lead in if I get skip happy or there’s too many FLAC files in a row.

I just manually feed it on the backend though. Will look at lidarr one day.

Very interested in Azuracast.

How do you lead/manage people who are much older than you?

So I’m getting a promotion soon (yay!), moving up from just a line cook to sous-chef and I’ve only been with this company for a few months. Thing is that I’m still quite young (mid twenties) and will be the direct supervisor of some people a fair bit older than I am. Think 10-20 years older. It might just still be a bit of...

cccc,

I used to work above a guy who had a reputation in the company for not really taking direction well from anyone (hence why he ended up in our section) and he was about double my age.

What I used to do was mention two things that needed doing and ask him which one he wanted to do. Most of what we did could’ve been done by either of us but in letting him pick what he wanted he had more inclination to actually do it. The rapport that came from this did allow me to jump on the few things that I wanted and get minimal backlash because I was fair most of the time.

Treat people with respect and make them feel like their opinions are valued.

If it comes to personal stories and life experience in conversation - try and take a lot more of a listening role and acknowledge their experience. They’ll feel valued in that space which will translate over to respect in the working space.

cccc,

If the website is selling physical goods it could be to prevent having to export. That can be anything from having to deal with different laws to just plain old more work with customs and everything.

cccc,

I love Sukiya. Unfortunately I do not live in Japan.

cccc,

I got into this recently. Seeing that there were Evangelion kits helped too. Blows my mind how intricate it is. It’s so relaxing.

cccc,

Where did you start?

cccc,

The best thing about Molex is I haven’t had to touch it for a while.

cccc,

I used to be pretty negative and aggressive until I realised that if I talked to anyone else the way talked to myself I would get hit.

Now I’m simple and encouraging. Generally a nice little “come on” followed by a simple “you’ll get through it”, “not long now”, “you can do it”, “it’ll be alright”. That sort of thing. If I ever had a coach for anything that’s how I’d want to be pushed.

cccc,

Thanks for reminding me of points. Since I started using Sonarr I don’t go to the main page anymore to spend them so I forgot.

cccc,

I’ll admit I’m fresh to the sport and probably the market they’re after but an extra quali and an extra race are much more appealing to me as a viewer than two practice sessions. I prefer the sprint weekends.

cccc,

About 30TB all up though 2x 10TB are mirrored backups of each other. I’m due some more soon.

cccc,

I’m a big fan of Marie Kondo’s books. Reading them just makes me want to live simpler.

The Little Book of Ikigai by Ken Mogi is another. Gets me thinking about doing what’s important, not doing everything.

cccc,

I’m sure the Drive to Survive team would love to have Danny back.

cccc,

They’ll still see upload/download volumes, speeds and patterns. Just not destinations. That alone could indicate torrent.

cccc,

I use a PS4 controller. Ironically the only thing I struggle with it on is modern games because a lot of the button prompts come up Xbox style and I’m not too familiar with that.

You’d think there would be issues with any non-PlayStation game emulated but older games seem to be a lot more intuitive with controls so it’s easier to adapt.

cccc,

There’s a big variance in taste across soy milks. There’s only two brands I’ll tolerate and I’m pretty sure they both come from the same factory.

cccc,
