This is one of my favorites. Also Shawshank Redemption and The Birdcage. Although I learned recently that a lot of humor in The Birdcage goes over the heads of younger people.
Edit: Sharing this here in case you haven’t seen it…
I feel exactly the same way as how you described it. I think the quote from OP about the universe experiencing itself actually originated from Carl Sagan, who is as scientific and atheistic as you could ask for. It’s just a play on words.
And then you have the likes of Deepak Chopra, who is the most disingenuous woowoo-talking charlatan in existence. If he said something like that, he would mean it literally.
I mean oddities mostly. I corelate the area code of my highschool love, and often the birthday of another. It has no significance beyond a few pleasant memories, but it is just one of life’s oddities for me. Do you experience similar oddities?
I read posts about people quitting jobs because they’re boring or there is not much to do and I don’t get it: what’s wrong with being paid for doing nothing or not much at all?...
Please be kind as this topic is a pain point for me. I’m feeling the pressure of finding my significant other because I’m at an age where it seems like everyone in my social media feed is getting engaged, married, or having kids. The issue is I have a huge transition coming up and will have to move in a few months to a place...
IMO you should date now but if you click with someone definitely be upfront about your upcoming move.
A couple of months after my husband and I started dating, he got a really good job offer in another state. He told me about it, and I didn’t ask him to stay, nor did I want to follow him. I figured if it was meant to be, even if he moved, we would still find our way back to each other someday. He decided to stay. We’ve been together 23 years.
24 Hrs to Live really made me think, especially the “who would you screw” part. That line helped me be more assertive, and if there’s a guy I found to be hot, to just go for it, because life’s too short to play games.
I could start it with a coin, then lock the doors, do something else while it warmed up, and unlock the doors with the actual key. It was like my own ghetto remote starting system.
I was trying to think of a PC game until I saw your comment. It’s totally Ingress for me too. I was hooked and my area (Chicago burbs) had a very active player base. The ops and competition were intense! I really enjoyed the real-world tactical shit, closest I’ll ever get to feeling like I was part of a military operation.
I still play it too, but not like before. It’s a great way to kill time and explore new places. I think I’m level 12, almost 13, and I’m lazily working towards more badges. I don’t understand what the red faction is all about and the other new stuff.
Murphy was found in a storm drain. We guess he was just under a year old when we adopted him. This video is from two years ago when he was around 18. He’s still alive today and showing no signs of slowing down.
One of our cats didn’t like it at first. She was always the skittish one. We started gently patting her and she grew to like it, even the harder smacks.

Should I date now if I have to move in a few months to a place that is hours away by car and would likely have more potential suitors?
