Lemmy Admins Are Full Of Shit. They Are Obsessed With Having Power, Silencing Users, Banning Users, And Want To Use A Karma System Like Reddit To Restrict Your Ability To Use Lemmy.

I know I'm being dramatic here, but something just hasn't been sitting well with me ever since I started using Lemmy.

There's just this feeling I get here that the admins have a fucking agenda. And I could be wrong. But I hate bullshiters who won't tell it like it is.

More people need to call admins out on their bullshit. It's getting fucking ridiculous.

And I'm tired of the fucking arrogant attitude that some how running a server and being an admin makes you important in some way as if you're going to be the next elon musk or something. Get over yourselves.

It really feels that there is an ulterior motive based on what I see in the matrix chats.

Admins are not being transparent about there motives.

I'm on pretty much all of the lemmy matrix chats, and all they talk about is restricting the users experience, banning, defederating, purging accounts when they ban them so the user doesn't see why they were banned, and any everything that will put them in a position of power.

I also feel like they have accounts on all the other instances and post other bullshit trying to push their agenda and make these changes seem like a good idea.

Admins, quit fucking bullshitting like you're trying not to be like reddit. Yall seem to wet your panties at the idea of basically being in complete and total control of everything and Ban who ever you want based on your political ideologies.

I'm sure their are some who are not like this.

Im sick of this morally superior attiitude and sense that your beliefs and actions are of greater virtue then everyone else. Yall are smugly moralistic and intolerant of different opinions and its fucking obvious.

Stop being fucking deceitful and tell the goddamn truth.

Please explain to everyone your intentions.

This is just one of many. I attached the rest here. I apologize for any duplicates.

clueless_stoner,

You have no idea what you’re talking about, and I hope you’re not allowed in the chat anymore. Goodbye

clueless_stoner,

preach

clueless_stoner,

A lot of those people aren’t even admins. Lemmy Project Chat is not an admins-only chat, it’s a general chatroom about Lemmy.

YSK: Just because something is easy for you, does not mean that it is easy.

ETA; Why you should know; everyone has natural talents, everyone has skills they developed with practice or over time. Something that feels easy to you might be difficult for someone else to grasp, or they might have a different background or a different way of doing things. When you show someone else how to do something, or when you ask someone else to do something, you need to set aside your expectations on how they might do that thing, or how quickly, or how well.

Be patient. Understand not everyone comes naturally to every new skill or new talent. Some people have learning disabilities or just a lack of familiarity with skills you consider "basic." And try not to belittle someone for needing extra time to master something you find "simple" or they may never try again!

Edit2: Kind of like how I can't figure out how to edit this to save my life. I've been belittled in the past for being bad at things so my instinct was to delete this, but seeing all the conversation, I couldn't bring myself to do it! Consider me a lesson in action!

clueless_stoner,

Hello there! I hope you’re liking it here. Could you please edit your post’s body text to include why should people know this? It’s our second rule, and it helps keep this place to a standard. :)

I'm the creator of kbin.social/m/bestof. I have been 'advertising' the subreddit of it to start getting traction. Despite all my efforts, I'm still the only contributor to my community. How do communities entice their subscribers to post content?

clueless_stoner, (edited )

Hello there! Please edit your post title to include a question. In the meantime, i'll try to extend this comment to help give some suggestions on growth. :)

edit: Alright, so. If you want your community to grow, it HAS to hit the front page. Post things that most people will like. This is what will get you up & running the fastest. Grab a top content from other platforms if you have to.

On lemmy.world, for instance, making a post with a catchy title on New Communities is a good way to get your community started. Find the counterpart on kBin or try posting it on the one we have here. You can also have it featured in bigger communities.

Always have a pinned post that your members can freely participate on. Explain to them what your goals and views are regarding that community, and what purpose the community is supposed to serve. You might find some people willing to help boost your community activity. If you can't, then openly ask for help. You can't have a community alone; it wouldn't be a community. Takes two to get to three.

Remember, you need content, quality or not, crosspost or not. It needs to be scrollable. While having said that, please don't start out with scraper bots. Many people see it as a repulsive thing nowadays.

clueless_stoner,

This is bad advice.

clueless_stoner,

Because that's already what everyone does. And just posting every once in a while and hoping it catches on, that doesn't work for anyone, does it? That's how a community dies, as a community with a single poster isn't a community. They should keep posting to relevant spaces and look for people who might support them. Takes two to make three. Maybe grab some top posts to try to hit the front page. Post it in New Communities with catchy titles. etc. etc. There's lots of things they could still be doing if they really want it to take off, haha. I didn't make a single post on YSK besides the welcome post and some meta posts as needed, and was always clear from the start that I will let these spaces die if our first few members stopped posting.

Hello there! Can you try to put your question in the title by removing the line break before it?

    clueless_stoner,

That is the case unfortunately, haha. It's fine if they can't fix it, mastodon users deserve an exception.

@nostupidquestions Is it true I can "join" a Lemmy group by following it from Mastodon?

So, I followed "@nostupidquestions" in Mastodon and indeed I see your groups posts in my Mastodon feed

But what about posting to your group? This post is an attempt to do so by mentioning the group at the begining of the post

    Did it work?

    Am I doing this right?

    clueless_stoner,

Yes you can post by tagging this way.

@nostupidquestions Can I post here from Mastodon?

I think its a popular but not well answered question right now.

I want to know whether I can create a post on Lemmy, by just using a mention from Mastodon.

    clueless_stoner,

    I think you just did.

    clueless_stoner,

    Absolutely!

    clueless_stoner,

That’s awesome! Thanks for including us in there!
