Ubisoft seems like one of the shittiest game companies. They were one of the earliest companies that implemented Always-on DRM, requiring an app to open chests, trying to put ads when you paused the game, refusing to put games on Steam because they want more money, sexual assault/harassment allegations etc.
I was pretty hyped for the new prince of persia game (the lost crown), but come to find out it’s only available on ubisoft’s proprietary launcher or epic games. Nope, and nope....
Adding a bit more to the discussion on whether game subscription can be “the future”, it looks like despite the heavy push made in the past decade, subscriptions only make up 10% of total video game spending in the US....
I really don’t understand why there’s so much hostility towards masks. I’ve always worn masks when I was sick and it was never a big deal for me. Wearing a mask all the time during 2020-2023 wasn’t a bother either.
Not really, it’s just that a lot of guides nowadays are done on youtube. I personally think text guides are superior so I really don’t want gamefaqs to go away.
I liked the online events because it was easier for them to get runners from around the world to participate. Also, I think the rhythm game showcases would have never happened without the online-only GDQs.
Capcom is adding DRM to their old games, even singleplayer ones. This seems like an intentional move to prevent modding, but it also seems to decrease FPS and cause crashes. What the hell are they thinking?
While I agree that you could jump in with Yakuza: LAD, I think it might be worth playing the earlier games for Infinite Wealth because Kiryu is one of the main characters. There will probably be a lot of references to the previous games because of Kiryu’s bucket list.
Billionaire CEOs were quick to sing the praises of working from home at the start of the pandemic, calling it the way of the future — but over the last three years, they’ve slowly changed their tune....
The other stupid part is that WFH makes more sense from a business perspective. Having to pay less in office rent and utilities is great for saving on costs.
Most people probably didn’t even recognize the other games. I only know about Shadow of Doubt (which I think should have won) because Yahtzee made a video about it.
The boundary system is what motivates poor driving habits among PUVs. It literally incentivizes them to break laws in order to maximize their income. It should be removed.
I suppose you could say it’s story heavy since what you’re doing is piecing together what happened on the ship. The story is that you’re a insurance investigator and have to find out what happened to every person that was on the Obra Dinn. It’s a great game. If it matters, it’s a Lucas Pope game, the guy who made Papers Please.
I meant with crowd funded games. I’m aware that they still buy exclusivity. Though from what I know they pay indies less compared to what they used to pay.
So what made me happy this year is that I finally moved out and have less interaction with my extremely toxic family. Also my GF came back from abroad and we’re going to be working towards getting a place here so that we can start living together.
In any case, thanks for this OP and good luck everyone!
I should figure out how myself (startrek.website)
Fuck Ubisoft.
