Well it finally happened. I've had to take sick leave to chase down ADHD meds.
For those unaware, theres a global shortage of these meds. Patents mean that only specific US companies can produce them, and the FDA enforces strict production and export limits on them based on out of date data.
Add to the fact that here you can only get your next bach 3 days before you run out.
All this nonsense is just because on a lumostly unsubstantiated fear that people will sell their meds as recreational drugs.
And these are critical meds, on par with anti-depressants or HRT. Going without for even a single day is like kick in the teeth, not knowing if you can get your next month supply is terrifying.
The notion that many people will sell their precious supply for a profit is just "drugs r bad" bullshit
On the good side, I managed to find some... and also get the pharmacy to hold another month's supply for me for when I'm allowed to collect them.
But for everyone else, imagine you're living month to month not knowing if you'll lose the thing that lets you handle lifes nonsense.
