@danderson in Rust 1.78 the stdlib ships with enabled debug assertions. Notably slice::from_raw_parts will now abort your program if you give it unaligned pointers. I've seen issues in winit, alacritty, polars and a few others (not trying to point fingers really, rust allowed this for a long time and especially in early rust this was entirely fine, fine as in didn't crash, but now it's no longer fine, there is a ton of issues related to this).
From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I crave the strength and certainty of steel. I aspire to the purity of the Blessed Forklift Certification.
do love it when the VM host updates the clients datetime with the incorrect time and starts a war with the local NTP client, which at this point has a skew of several seconds and the update interval has shrunk below a minute.
Didn't think seeing @-spam here would be the thing that makes me hate this place but I guess that's it.

The new General Word Reference Intelligence System Framework will be deployed on pony.social along with our new proof-of-wo... you have been banned from this channel
in more seriousness, report the stuff, I'm happy to suspend the user as soon as I can. I am also very much working on an anti-spam bot that'll hopefully get that under control soon.
paramount should just make a star trek tv show about the irish unification of 2024 and release it everywhere but in GB with exception of Northern Ireland.
there is a certain challenge trying to blind install a raspberry pi.
I have a keyboard plugged in and I am VERY carefully typing in the commands the nixos manual tells me to type. I also have to type my SSH public key.
There is no way for me to get feedback because the nixos sdcard image wants to ... run on an aarch64-linux to build. With binfmt setup to emulate. I should probably just grab that cable on monday.
