A lot of faculty are making the same choice. Red states are finally undertaking the mission that’s been a goal since Goldwater/Nixon times, to gag pesky academics and educators. They think that will help them control of the next generation’s minds, but it won’t work because reality has a well-known liberal bias. But it may well destroy a great system of land-grant universities that have been the envy of the world.
We get surprisingly little information from within these companies as far as how they operate. But their products have big implications for the public. So when a major exec at a big company publicly criticizes them on the way out, that’s notable, and part of a longer story that I find interesting.
The decentralized cross-device sync works surprisingly well! It’s a great app with no ads, minimal but attractive UI, a nice reader mode. The closest successor to Press reader.

It’s just astounding to me that this guy is actually running their schools. I never used to feel this way, but I don’t think I could ever move to a state like this. I want to have a family and can’t imagine worrying about people like this being in charge of educating my children.
I fail to see what is sensationalized. He is being investigated for studying the blood of homeless people without proper permission of an ethics board or the authorities, which as the article discusses is against the law.

I’ve been pretty happy with my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Have access to apps I value like Bring, Home Assistant, Todoist, Google Maps, Yatse. Google Assistant actually is pretty responsive and useful. Music controls are effective, as is responding to texts, dismissing notifications. I get about 2.5 days battery life allowing me to do sleep tracking. So I’d recommend it!
I do miss the Tizen battery life, more like 4 days, but >2 is my minimum. The Maps app is pretty great for showing the next turn when walking, and you can pull up a map view if there’s confusion about the exact direction. It works pretty well and the large display is very readable.
