This looks good - I wish there was an easier way to add it to mobile Firefox though - right now the only method is know is by using the beta version and creating a custom addon collection...
Not sure if I agree with him (or rather, pretty sure I disagree). The protest was very successful for me - it got me off the site, and I have no plans of going back, even if it fully opens and goes back to "normal". In my case, reddit is not winning, it completely lost. I see more people like me around here every day and it makes me happy. Can't remember lat time reddit made me happy, so I'm enjoying the change, even if it comes with a fair bit of jank.
I have to admit I was surprised just how good it feels to fire Strun (Prime), dunno whether it's due to sound or just the ridiculous amount of pellets flying out but it really feels like a proper video game shotgun. I'd maybe even put it above corinth!...
Recently it's Torid incarnon, and theres absolutely no contest. I LOVE that weapon. Deleting all fools in the same zipcode is just so much fun! Also, since I'm a console peasant and also can't aim, charging off body shots is the best thing ever for me. Absolute favorite of mine - don't use any other weapon unless I have to :)
I'm reasonably satisfied with 777 - don't really use amps enough to experiment with different builds, and this one does the job. One of these days I need to grind the arcanes though, just to make it more viable as a free revive in steel path...
Amid a dangerous heat wave, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law nullifying local regulations, including mandated water breaks for construction workers, effective from September 1....
It's quite astonishing, looking at US republicans from afar. Every time I read some news about them I ask myself "CAN they even be any dumber and/or cartoonishly evil?". And every single time the answer seems to be a resounding "YES!", and sometimes "why not both?"...
You might be thinking of anchoring. Some restaurants have a couple of outrageously expensive wines on top of the menu for that reason - everything else looks cheaper in comparison, since the first thing you saw is "anchored" in your mind and used as a point of reference.
So it's well known now that the developer of Apollo estimated the new API pricing would cost $20 million a year. For a source, see the title of https://www.theverge.com/2023/5/31/23743993/reddit-apollo-client-api-cost...
“We are not in the business of giving that away for free.” - right, you're only in business of getting it for free and then charging everyone you can for it...
Coming from reddit of course, I cannot figure out how to get to some of the communities I followed there. Either they don't exist or I'm doing something wrong. Like I frequent r/android and r/SquaredCircle, r/movies, r/gaming, r/fossdroid just to name a few. Is there something similar here? Thank you!!
You can use https://browse.feddit.de/ to find a community, then copy the address (https://lemmy.ml/c/jerboa for example) into your instance's search bar, give it time to fetch it (it will show "no results found" at first, be patient), then click on the link that pops in search, open the sidebar from there and subscribe.
Yeah, it's super awkward now, but it's all growing pains - it's only going to get better from here!
I tried using Jerboa actually, but couldn't figure out how to easily look up communities and subscribe to them, so I'm just using a browser on my phone for now. I'll try again after a couple updates, but browser is functional enough - a bit of jank here and there but that's too be expected.
Same - I'm using a Lemmy instance, Kbin and Tildes to wean myself off reddit and I think it's working! Warframe was one of the communities I missed the most, so I'm super glad it's available here too - very excited to see it grow and expand.
No plans to go back, so I do hope more people move here!
Saw it in the in-game news console, but for some reason clicking on it gives me a 404, I don't see it manually searching the PS store either (console peasant here). Not particularly interested in the pack, so it's not a big deal, but can you guys access it on other platforms?
Definitely not going back to reddit - I'll miss my local expat community and dedicated game subs, but I'm gradually finding replacements, so it's all good :)
Right now I'm basically just slowly accumulating communities to replace the ones I frequented, but I'm sure I'll find some new cool ones too! All in all, I love it here. It is all new, exciting and enjoyable, with a bit of jank on the side - reminds me of ye olde IRC days, I feel as excited as I was then :)
Sent some weird space bucks (outbucks? Lol) your way to keep this thing running, since it's my new home after the reddit fiasco. Looking forward to see it grow and prosper!
Unbridled capitalism is destroying the internet everything it touches.
When the ONLY motive for doing (or not doing) something is profit, things go to sit sooner or later. The example I often use is that we actually have enough food in the planet to feed everyone. We just throw a large portion of it away or destroy it, because in so many cases food is not made/grown to feed people, but to generate profits... Sad reality of late stage capitalism.
Ehh, as long as I can easily block the content I don’t want to see (and I can here!), I really don’t care. I’m not a fan of anime porn, other users are not fans of gardening, yet other ones may like anime porn and gardening but hate politics… It’s physically impossible to cater to everyone, so to be completely honest I would just not care, delete that user and move on.
Please check my post, I think everything I said is very valid, but I want this community to see it too, and help steer the discussion, I think reddit is doing this intentionally.
Console and individual game ones mostly, also my local subreddit (japanlife). I'm sure I'll learn to live without them eventually, but I'm just so used to that structure that it's going to be hard at first...
The thing I will miss the most though is how RiF allows me to instantly jump to a subreddit just by typing a part of its name, no need to subscribe or anything. This is how I've been browsing for years, so having everything combined together is hard to get used to. I'll manage in time, hopefully.
Both were down for me before, they seem to be up right now but just made this account on Lemmy.blahaj.zone (Henry is the name of my actual blahaj lol). It's probably because of the traffic influx from reddit refugees from the absolutely disastrous spez ama (where he doubles down on everything and doesn't apologize at all)....
I honestly find the constant digs at Apollo developer baffling. Spez is clearly looking for a scapegoat, but after the second or third time Christian showed the receipts, you'd think he'd find another target...
Instead he is digging himself and reddit deeper and deeper into that hole - seems ego really is a hell of a drug.
Same here. It is going to suck A LOT - I've been a heavy reddit user for more than 15 years, most of it was through RiF. I will miss some communities I'm a part of there, but there is no way I'm using the garbage official app or supporting the lying scum of the CEO of they place, so this is how my reddit adventure ends... :(
Same here. Expeditions is actually what made me stop playing regularly. In part because I’m an immature contrarian, but also because I’ve been playing literally since day one, and I got a lot of stuff I like - don’t want to start from scratch every time a new expedition is released…
Since the reason so many people moved because of the third-party app changes, wouldn't it make sense for a Lemmy app to be made. Obviously not yet since the developers are already under a lot of stress with the amount of new users Lemmy is gaining....

Just realized the lie about reddit api pricing
