First fountain pen of my life. Parker Vector with “Medium” nib. I’ve already had it for two weeks, and although this was only meant to try out fountain pens, I think I’ll keep it, since the nib is a great compromise between being smooth while not being fussy with office paper. Already chewed through a cartridge. Only bad...
Feedback (aka the scratchy friction from the nib rubbing across the paper fibers) all depends on both the paper and the type of nib you get.
The polished steel nib will have less feedback than the black steel nibs but the polished steel nibs will have greater variation in the line thickness.
Higher end/premium paper like Rhodia, Clairefontaine, Leuchtturm 1917 etc will feature smoother paper which will give less feedback.
Some feedback is wanted so you know how you are writing but how much feedback is needed is up to both the user and the situation.
The only distro I can find that successfully configures a functioning bootable GRUB on this (bastard) machine is Nobara, which looks very cool but is way too heavy! Some things are glitchy; attempting tab completion seems to freeze Konsole for ~5 seconds and does not complete the command as expected. We’re working with an...
To be brutally honest about this, your best bet is to recycle the unit.
The problems of trying to get a distro to install properly, have all the hardware working right and have a usable experience are not worth the minimal upsides.
I have an ASUS X205TA which is a similar unit and after trying for countless hours to get a usable device out of it was not going to be worth the headaches plus if I was getting paid for the time I spent on it I could have brought an off lease laptop with better specs.
I have had several distros working on the X205TA (I even had a how to guide written up on reddit years ago).
But I was not able to get a usable system (i.e. being able to use the system without waiting on average 20-120 sec for the device to process an action).
Life has gotten to the point that the effort to do so is better directed into activities that I would enjoy.
I have an LTS kernel as a backup in case something doesn’t work with my main kernel.
Just recently I had an issue where my main kernel had a bug where snap’s can’t start up, so I just restarted into the LTS kernel to use it then restarted back into my main kernel.
Hiya peeps, my mouse mat has served its time, and it is time for a new one. Until now, I’ve had one of these huge ones, that cover half the desk. But I think this time I’m gonna aim for a normal-sized one. I’d also like to avoid cheap Chinese wares or anything low-quality. Anyone got any nice recommendations for mousepads?...
Don’t worry I 'm not going to end up with piles of different pens.
I am most likely only going to to get one more pen (Likely another TWSBI ECO with a fine nib) to fill up with a nice dark purple ink (likely either Diamine Scribble Purple or Lamy Dark Lilac).
That way I will have one pen with Lamy black ink, one with Platinum pigment carbon black, my main & backpack pens with Diamine blue black and one with a dark purple (can you tell that I like dark colours?).

From what I understand is that the warming isn’t linear but exponential and we are already at the point of no return well ahead of predictions.
The world we are leaving for the next generations is going to be a hot drought ridden wasteland because companies and governments for decades have been polluting and destroying the environment in the endless quest for money with basically no repercussions.
Companies have been allowed to dump toxic waste into the ground then walk away from it leaving the tax payers to fund the cleanup.
Fixed TWSBI Go ink problems
I brought a TWSBI Go with a fine nib a while ago....

[Noob] Is it worth getting a LTS kernel?
I’ve heard LTS kernels offer more stability, but lack the latest features. How likely is my system to break with the standard kernel?
What platform are you playing Minecraft on?
Example: I’m playing on a Windows laptop, but I also have it for Nintendo Switch and iOS.
