@kylebshr asked me to create an alternate icon for his app @paku. I came up with a design that incorporated the ‘bubble’ pins used on the map in the app.

I also had a real urge to produce an iOS 6 style version too!

An iOS 6 style app icon with purple and pink stripes. The Paku wind glyph sits on top, with the iconic iOS icon reflection on the top half of the icon.

@JeroenSchaper mine hasn’t really changed for a while now. Need to spend a bit of time with it and change it up. Thinking about having widgets down one side and 2 columns of apps on the other.

@duncandesi9n Since the wallpaper bug won’t ever be fixed, I created a cheap workaround. All I do is setting the same wallpaper as my homescreen wallpaper, and setting that to blur. It doesn’t have the nice effect when unlocking, but I do get vibrant colors without seeing the little glitch 🙈

@JeroenSchaper ah that’s a good hack. I’ll give that a go. The other thing I’m a bit baffled by lately is the parallax/depth effect on the icons against the wallpaper when you tilt the phone. Most the time it doesn’t seem to work for me, but every so often I can see it.

@JeroenSchaper yeah I thought about that, but sometimes it works on my current wallpaper, and other times not. The image is way big enough too, so I don’t get it 🤷‍♂️
