Redoing my site again. I’m happy with the look, but frustrated with the performance—mostly re: images.

I’m using srcset for responsive sizes. I’m specifying width and height to eliminate layout shift. I’m compressing the hell out of my JPGs and PNGs with ImageOptim (85%).

Anyone have any more advice?

Terrible name though, considering they have the absolute edition format. Can see that being confusing.

@JeroenSchaper I’m still confused about what it’s actually going to be though. From that article it doesn’t sound like a publishing line for stories set it another main universe, like the Ultimate line. It either sounds like stories that are linked with the main DC universe but where creators have more freedom, or just another random publishing line, which they already have with Black Label… 🤷‍♂️

Also doesn’t sound like Snyder will do much writing for it.

@JeroenSchaper sounds like there is much more detail to come, so it’ll be interesting to see. Although it’s been done before by Marvel, I think an Ultimate style line for DC would actually be really interesting.

@JeroenSchaper so I was listening to a podcast today and the chap from bleedingcool.com was saying that everything he’s heard is pointing to this being DC’s version of the ultimate universe - which I’m happy about. He reckons 6 titles initially. He also said it will be linked to the main universe somehow, but is unsure in what way.

Can’t wait until the summer when the X-Men line relaunches. I loved HOX POX and X of Swords, but the rest of the Krakoan age really didn’t do it for me. Looking forward to more classic stuff!

@JeroenSchaper that’s an interesting thought. Having the shades and gradients of the ui change slightly depending on the position of light. Might still be a battery issue, though.
