I think it would work if the sub was scraped in its entirety and then just permenantly closed. The scraped data can then just be linked on the megathread here or smth

Honestly I'm kinda a datahoarder lol so I basically archive things for the sake of preservation. In this aspect I guess this coincides with your point, since many things I pirate I don't really consume, I just might potentially consume, or find it valuable, so I pirate it and keep it lol
Archive.org probably has backed up a lot of stuff. regardless, I'm kinda sad tho that I promised someone I'd send them a file but i procrastinated and this happened, so I can't find the original comment anymore rip
