Do I see that correctly that there are a lot of packages out there than handle date-ranges on the code side but almost none that handle them on the UI side?

Like actually printing something like

Thu 26th - Fri 27th Oct 2023

Or

Thu 26th Oct. 2023 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Possibly localized?

Or is my WebSearchFoo just letting me down....

How the heck can I overwrite a service for one test in symfony?

I have one test where I need a very specificaly created service from the container but "the service is already initialized, you cannot replace it"...

Fine! But then stop the f*oo initializing said service again and again and again and just use that one that was initialized once and where I injected the information that I need in the test!

In germany we have a very traditional education of craftspeople. Depending on the trade you are an apprentice for about 3 years where you learn the crafts necessary for the trade.

That is followed by at least 3 years (and one day) as a journeyperson. During that time you perfect your craft. But depending on the trade you are expected to learn from different masters in different areas. Some do the literal.journey and travelnthenworld to learn in different areas.

Funnily enough the line reads "Do you think it's a mistake?" (The issue is the apostrophe...)

I really hate test-suites that rely upon the order in which tests run....

phpunit --order-by random to the rescue.... Or not as that means reworking a sh*tload of tests....

You can write all the tests you want: Production will always find ways to show you the raised middle finger.

And if it's only by sending broken UTF-8 encoding.

and that doesn't mean tests are useless! It only means you have to expect failures! No matter how large your testsuite is!

And each of these raised middle fingers extends your testsuite to make sure you aren't bitten again by the same issue.

But believe me: Production will find something else 😁

I have my issues with Micro$oft. It didn't get better today...

Outlook is an abomination. They decided to implement RFC 5546. But actually they didn't.

They only implemented a tiny part of it. And of course there's no documentation, support doesn't know anything and the only way to confirm assumptions is "The Community" of unpaid people that know as much as myself.

And we trust them with our code? Really?
