Time, use and practice are key to switching OSes, platforms and apps: you get comfortable with what you use. A good start to moving away from Microsoft Windows might be to install Libre Office on Windows, and start learning to use that for your daily word processing, presentations and spreadsheets. If there's one thing that is going to drive me away from Gnome, it's the crappy GTK file managers.

Thunar has some odd drag and drop bugs that bug me, and the way it focuses on the panes is very odd, so often I will think one pane is in focus when it's not.

Double commander is just a mess

Nautilus is broken on my install.

Nemo doesn't remember position. Same with pcmanfm.

I tried Krusader and it doesn't work great in Gnome. Neither does Dolphin.

I wish Spacefm wasn't abandoned.

There's a big part of me that wants to ditch Gnome and go back to KDE Plasma. It's the part that sees something shiny and wants to touch it.
