It's too much of a pain to implement primitives from scratch. If someone wants to build a fediverse software today, they should be prepared to spend more time implementing the AP layer than the business logic. It reminds me of the days of printing out HTTP headers and HTML by hand in Perl/C to create web apps with CGI.

This is why I've considered as a decent alternative to , but it's overly centered on the web and Node.js (it has a Go/C++ backend, but it's never a first-class citizen), and the lack of momentum due to the size of the community makes me scared to bet on it. 😇

Hot take: practices are , hence neurodiverse workers are much more difficult to follow them then neurotypical workers.

Currently, only renders a few harmless tags like <strong> and <em> in the HTML of content received from other ActivityPub softwares like Misskey. In addition to these, I believe that tags related to ruby characters, which are often used in East Asian texts such as so-called , should also be allowed, as they don't just add to the presentation of the text, but actually represent how the characters are read, which also improves accessibility. I also wrote about this in an issue on Mastodon GitHub:

Someday, when I have some spare time, I'd like to create my own ActivityPub implementation.

@6d03 I haven't put much thought into what language I'd write it in yet, but I think it'll probably be Haskell or Rust, or maybe TypeScript to encourage wider contributions.
