I'm really not happy with Lemmy so far. Its a great community and a cool concept, but the amount of bugs I am experiencing is really starting to put me off....
Yeah the hot/active algorithm just doesnt work anymore. It worked fine the first week i was here but ever since lemmy blew up its shown the same threads at the top which kinda sucks
I'm trying to lean away from big tech these days so I'd rather avoid having a vanilla android phone that's Google focused with lots of bloat ware. Any recommendations on what to consider?
i've using LineageOS on my oneplus 7t and have been using it on a few different phones in the past 5 years, its a bit buggy on the 7t atm but worked great on other phones ive had. I know GrapheneOS is also recommended (although heard of some recent controversy?) but only works on Google Pixel phones
Oh they changed their vocals, interesting to see what they come up with next. The only song i know from them is Where Owls Know My Name and i really liked their old vocals there. I liked this too, very upbeat feeling sound
I like it but the harsh vocals are putting me off for some reason, the clean vocals are nice and instrumentally its really nice and i usually like harsh vocals but they're a bit too "emo" for me haha, might need a few relistens
Ended up listening to this album and it was pretty good, still i feel the harsh vocals could be a bit more varied but i liked it overall. The last song was pretty nice as it felt like it calmed down a bit for the ending
I am planning on reinstalling to new drive(s) the next time my distro releases a new version and i am interested in drive encryption, so i was wondering...
One thing i do know is after finishing everything, you wanna backup your LUKS headers incase something gets corrupted so you wont lose your data, make sure its safe outside of the encrypted drive somewhere. "sudo cryptsetup luksHeaderBackup /dev/drive_name --header-backup-file /destination/"
Don't know any other downsides, but you will require entering your password 2 times if i'm not mistaken. Now if you wanna try to avoid entering your password twice. This is a bit more complex but not super hard to try, depends on how technical you are and what distro you use, ArchWiki claims if you use the sd-encrypt hook it will cache your first password and use it for the other drive.
I believe if you do swap to the sd-encrypt hook you gotta swap all the other hooks over to the systemd ones too but not 100% sure, but that's what i ended up doing. Also would need to use the "rd.luks" boot options instead of the "cryptdevice="
Yeah the desktop site especially is why i wanted to leave reddit for the past few months, im happy they shot themselves in the foot the past week so we could move over to a different platform. I kept having to switch back to old.reddit just to see a NSFW post without an account, they made it so you cant even sort comments anymore without being logged in recently. Just malicious design. The website on mobile has been shit for years now asking you to USE THE MOBILE APP.

No. im checking them out right now, they sound alright, but im generally more into metal than rock. Still… pretty solid sound, and i dont mind people posting more prog rock stuff here too, anything prog i think would be welcome around here.
A prog rock band i know of thats not super popular is Beardfish
Hey, i thought id make this as there was only one i found on lemmy.ml but it was pretty dead. hopefully some people post some songs here, i posted some of my favourites but dont wanna spam too much
Oh thats good to know, though the way i did is what pops up whenever you do the normal syntax on the website, guess ill have to manually do it from now on
Edit: tried it out and decided to revert back to the normal way, on the mobile app it just opens a broken link which would be more confusing imo
Unhappy with Lemmy

What are some more "privacy focused" Android phones you all recommend?

Welcome to the progressive metal community

Great song, love the growling sections on this one but the cleans are also great
We need a coding subreddit
We need an international coding subreddit for obvious reasons. I don't want to make it in my Lemmy instance because it's an Italian-only one.
