I really enjoyed the original Amnesia title, especially Soma. I went ahead and played the demo (~1 hour) and this game feels/plays/looks like what I'd expect from a Frictional Games title....
Was wondering about this game, feels like it came out of nowhere recently. Id probably wait a few weeks before buying it to see the how good it is, but im also a fan of Soma and the first amensia. I ended up buying the last one 2-3 years ago and never really played it
An Abstract Illusion - BlomsterkransWhile this album is full of growling vocals and great metal instrumentation this calmer song stood out to me, really nice piano melody.
Beautiful melodies and orchestration. The Dear Hunter tells a 5 album story from start to finish. If you like music with a story check them out, they have a ton of repeated motifs across the 5 acts which reward relistens and connect into the storyline. You can look up the story online if you wanna know whats going on.
The song i posted was the one that introduced me to the band about 4 or 5 years ago now.
they've recently put out a new album with a new story not connected to the 5 acts, setting up the foundation for whats to come. Ring 1 - Tower was my favourite track off of that album, but generally my favourite act is either 2 or 3.
Im 3 songs into their Apex III album and its pretty solid so far, i never listened to this type of rock before so its interesting, got this sluggish feel to it
Now there's a shiny new Lemmy group up and running at @popheads (Mastodon users: follow it if you want more discussion of pop music in your Mastodon feed), it's time to ask who's your favourite pop star? Do you have a favourite song or album?
My current faves are:
Alessia Cara: Perhaps the most talented and certainly the most underrated of the current crop of pop stars. She's fallen out of the limelight the past couple of years, which is a pity, because there's some excellent songs on her recent albums:
I often think about stellar albums. The ones where they're really isn't a skip-able track. Off the top of my head, these come to mind: The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Collective Soul Collective Soul (blue album), Bush 16 Stone, and Green Day Dookie. What are some of your perfect albums?
Keep hearing about this game and i hear you dont wanna spoil yourself on it, but that also means idk if i wanna buy it or not, ill probably end up playing it at some point
Wow, what a game. I was inspired by Max0r's videos about it to buy it on steam and play it. So far, I've been really digging the combat and the story is hilarious.
it's very much borrowed from one of the reddit subs i frequent(ed) often, but the idea is to share what we're playing weekly and hopefully create discussions around those games (or simply have a sort of "check-in").
Saw someone doing a Papers Please playthrough and got the urge to replay it again. Trying to go kinda hardcore by not making any mistakes but ive already reset day 5 like 3 times haha

The Venetia Fair - The Dirt Wont Keep Your Secrets [post hardcore][alternative rock] (youtube.com)
Great band, one of my favourite vocalists. This entire album is really nice
Mars Red Sky - Friendly Fire [Psych rock] (youtu.be)
One of my favorite psych bands. Was close to opening for them in my old band and been kicking myself over that for years.
Veloren is an open-source multi-player voxel role-playing game that can be self-hosted (and has more adventure and fun than Minecraft) (veloren.net)
It is inspired by games such as Cube World, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft....
perfect/near perfect albums

I've just started playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengance
Wow, what a game. I was inspired by Max0r's videos about it to buy it on steam and play it. So far, I've been really digging the combat and the story is hilarious.
what are you playing this week?

What launchers do you use?
Seems like every week over on GamingOnLinux there's an announcement of a new launcher....
What are we listening to today?
Thought I'd see who's about and whether we could get a thread going on music recommendations from what we're jamming today....
