I highly recommend finding a therapist in the normal manner and then confirming that they offer telehealth (I suspect most do), as opposed to BetterHelp and all those types of services. I have a great local therapist but if I’m ever not up to or can’t come in, we just hop on a video call. It’s good to have the option of going in person, even if you don’t think you’re there yet.

Are there any online or in-person communities dedicated to minimizing the influence advertising has on its members? Do you know any strategies to minimize this effect on you?

Is there a lemmy community, for example, where people discuss shopping strategies which minimize the risk of the purchase decision being influenced by Brand Image or Flashy Packaging? Or similar topics. Maybe what product categories have cheapest products that are bad, so you can’t apply an objective criterion while making the...

I feel like those options are always immediately written off. It is possible to find good to great opportunities. Plenty of shit ones too of course but it’s worth a look.

It feels good to work somewhere whose purpose is to support the community I live in.

Well I got COVID last week and it’s still wearing off. My best friend and roomie of seven years moved out last week as well, so I’m living alone for the first time ever ☺️/😪

On the bright side I have cut my marijuana intake in half, drank one coke instead of 3-5 per day, and managed to eat three meals, for the past half week.

Mixed bag as it tends to be. Thanks for asking!

Couple weeks ago I did a cleanse and found my subscriptions had ballooned to nearly $150/mo. They should not be able to charge on auto pay when they switch the terms and raise the prices.

After a purge I’m left with YNAB, Microsoft 365, GitHub Copilot, and a YouTube membership to City Planner Plays (s/o).

I’m particularly annoyed with MS365 because of how intertwined with Windows it has become, making it harder to get rid of the subscription… and it is kinda nice to reinstall Windows, login, and everything is just … there. Just as it was 20 minutes ago.
