since it's vacation i'm actually up late enough to watch the Overwatch Champion Series JP region matches...the best team (VARREL) isn't playing tonight, but the meme team (NameKuji Brothers) is. i made a bluesky account yesterday because i'm apparently addicted to trying out every new text-based social media platform 💀

haven't found much use for it tbh--the ability to opt-in or out of algorithmic feeds is nice, but no tag functionality and no option to make your profile private is ​:blobcat_angry:​

it's great for finding art though so that's cool.

this is actually the first time i've seen it spawn here. i've seen the layout spawn before (it can only happen in the second area) but i don't think it ever respawns.

The competitive progress screen change is a big improvement over the old system (of course, the "new" screen is much more similar to OW1's progress screen lol).

The only thing that annoys me is some of the phrasing they use when explaining large gains/losses. Some are obvious--"expected" and "uphill battle" for indicating you were favored to win or more likely to lose, but i'm not sure what "volatility" and "calibration" refer to. ​:blobcatthonking:​ I'm guessing they have something to do with matchmaking uncertainty but beyond that... ​:blobcatshrug:​

@coorsnotsolite yeah my support games have been rough so far. I usually play Mercy but this season I feel so lost on her. I think the idea of the DPS passive is alright but it hit some characters (especially in support) much harder than others.

I started playing Misericorde (a visual novel mystery set in a medieval nunnery) last night. Only meant to play for an hour, but ended up playing all evening and I'm clearing out today's schedule so I can hopefully finish it tonight...

Refraining from sharing too many thoughts until I finish, but it's been a long time since a story has gripped me this hard. It's an exciting feeling, to read something this thoughtful.

Finished Misericorde! Very reminisent of Umineko in the second half...

Anyway, here's some lighter moments from this murder mystery novel. Wanted to highlight some dialog that isn't already plastered everywhere but honestly, the "how many ducks could you fight" and "let's draw cats" scenes are just too good to not include.
