@popey I've had issues like you described with my Linux machines crashing, though I have only AMD hardware and have experienced it across both Ubuntu and Debian.

@popey I see it less often now than I did before. I'm pretty heavy on Wayland these days (I use sway, etc) but I've wondered if it's a GNOME thing (I use @regolith which makes GNOME look nice in a tiling window environment)

⚠️ Seeking diet / health help

I don't have high blood pressure, per se, but it fluctuates high often.

I love sodium and there's some foods / treats that though I don't enjoy often I don't want to give up altogether.

Is there some supplement, or treatment I can take that will allow me to occasionally enjoy a high sodium treat?

(Like, lactaid maybe? but for sodium?)

@ramiro I do that with anything sweet. Sugary treats can fuck with my head almost right away, but if I drink a bunch of water, I don't get that yucky feeling.

Can anyone recommend a clickity-clackity mechanical keyboard that is nice to type on, but has a low barrier to entry? (That is, you don’t have to make lots of decisions about keycaps, switches, etc.) Bonus if it does Bluetooth.

Honestly, if you are buying a garage door opener at any point just absolutely avoid Chamberlain. One of the single worst purchases I've ever made. Today I had to log into a server that wouldn’t bring up networking, so on site.

I was sent the password: SIXTY random characters. CaSe Num3rics, Symb0ls~! Everything. Random. Strong.

We had a problem. /bin/login was configured to timeout at 60 seconds.

I touch type but 60 fully random characters? I couldn’t break 50 before the minute was up.

Then I solved it:

I read them outloud, quickly, in a voice memo. Played it back so I could focus on rapid entry.

55 seconds later I had a root prompt.

Do you wish Mail.app had "single key" (no modifier) archiving?

I set this up in Mail.app with Karabiner. Now I just hit "backslash" and the message I have highlighted is archived. This is right below backspace so it's VERY fast to alternate between deleting and archiving a lot of mail, fast.

This was done with a Karabiner+Goku rule, but you can use other tools for this as well. Left as an exercise for the reader.
