@jefftheworld@social.rights.ninja

Chiptune musician from Toronto.

On this account I mostly just share my #music, #tutorials, and anything else relevant to the #chiptune / #chipmusic community.

Heavy bass-lines, frantic rhythms and airy leads. I make music with an arsenal of antiquated hardware and software.

@jefftheworld I just heard Astrayus on #RadioFreeFedi (when I should be asleep) and absolutely love it. Then read it was made on an ancient laptop running DOS! Love it even more. Thanks for contributing your #music to RFF.

Look at this ancient video of me performing outside old city hall in Toronto! 2010 was almost a decade and a half ago!

Just tuned in again to @radiofreefedi and immediately loving the last two songs:

"Codex Nimbus" by @jefftheworld

https://jefftheworld.com/astrayus-prelude/?track=1&autoplay=1#player

and

"Beauty in everything is no bad thing" by @tiredhorizon

The full album downloads (in mp3 or flac format) also come with the original XM modules, so you can see how the songs were written, modify them, pull out the samples, etc.

It's like the source code for the tracks, and you can check it out using a modern Fasttracker 2 compatible program like ft2-clone.

I really didn't expect 1010Music to add USB audio, but it's a very welcome addition!

It's not the world's most feature-rich implementation—just stereo in/out 44.8k/24-bit—but it's perfect for my needs and lets me get rid of one more device from my live setup.

    Depending on the quantity of what you're shipping and the fees and whatnot you may be able to take advantage of a customs brokerage.

    You might find it worthwhile to call a few who specialize in UK-to-EU export and see whether they be able to save you money and provide more reliable delivery.

    My experience was going from Canada to the EU (before brexit and before I moved to the UK) so unfortunately I don't really have any specific brokers I could recommend, but it's an industry that you should definitely shop around in as not every broker will give you the best value for your specific needs.
