At Gare centrale, 3 officoial entrances to the REM.
The former train stair wells for tracks 9-10 or 111-12, as well as the entrance fro corridor between the station and de La Gauchetiere (towards metro). Most seem to use later.
When going down original wells that angle to left or right, signs point to manned ticket booth on left and the long walk to platforms on right.

@Milnoc The Dulles Metro station is north of a main parking lot which is north of main terminal whch is north of the A-B wig which is north of the D-C wing.
There is automated train that does B-main-A-C, but I think mobile lounges still used between D and customs at main terminal.
Your flight appears to arrive at A gates. (I think C and D are international
There is a walkable tunnel between the A-B and main terminal.

While watching Norwegian train, I got to think about Canada electrifying rail. Border between Québec and Ontario/New Brunswick would be challenging. Québec has a distinct 60hz cycle.
Normally, the switch from one substation to the next is done with both overhead wires being parralel for a while (so pantograph touches both). But this can't be done if it means connecting 2 different 60hz cycles together. I am sure there are existing solutions for this, but curious if SNC Lavalin will think of it !

Friday's WHO press conference. (May 5)
https://youtu.be/B0oBevft4bs

1022 days ago, WHO learned of a cluster of pneumonia of unknown cause in Wuhan China. On January 30th 2020, WHO declared Public Health Emergency of International Concern. (side note: WHO had attempted this about 10 days earlier but but 2 countries blocked it - at time, human to human trrasmission had not yet been proven).

On January 30th, outside China , there were fewer than 100 reported cases and no reported deaths.

The FAA Emergency Airworthiness Directive on the 737-9 jas been published
https://drs.faa.gov/browse/ADFREAD/doctypeDetails?modalOpened=true

Friendly wording:
"This emergency AD was prompted by a report of an in-flight departure of a mid cabin door plug, which resulted in a rapid decompression of the airplane. "

"This AD applies to The Boeing Company Model 737-9 airplanes, certificated in any category, with a mid cabin door plug installed." ( so not all 737-9)

AD is "must inspect" but no details whcih I assume will be elsewhere.

Dear companies,
If I go through hoops on your web site to find a contact phone number, it is because I wish to speak to a human, not go through a maze like a mouse trying to find the piece of cheese hidden in middle. Ahd don't lure me into a sense of being in right direction with many menus only to ask me a question you know I don't have answer to (such as asking for 10 digit phone number when you chose options to sign up) and hangup when you say "no". Yeah that's you AT&T. WHY?

The long tunnel between métro and Place Bonavcenture had been designed to bring people to the core of shopping mall and then force them to walk past stores to get to elevators to offices or to the Le Passage to get to Central Station. (le Passage passes directly over the tunnel and is very close to the metro station).

Ottawa return to service for OC Transpo (from today's press conference).

Consideirng low ridership, considering the safety note, considering system was designed to be able to operate with single vehicle trains, they will operate 8 single car trains , yielding frequency of 7-8 minutes.

Background: draft safety note received today suggest replacing axle/hub assemblies every 60,000km. Big part of fleet has more than 60,000 so need axles changes before entering service.

Bit of history behind Novabus:
Former GM bus assembly plant at St-Eustache not far from the GM car assembly plant at St-Thérèse. GM sold its bus business to Dial Corp (Greyhound) in 1987. (Dial also owned MCI). Dial wanted to exit bus making and St-Eustache faces closure of plant. Dude named Nova Quintech acquired the plant and one in Roswel NM in 1993 and rights to continue building the "Classic" GM bus. (NM plant closed later).
Québec government obviously helped a lot$.
