"Each assemblage gains emergent properties produced from interactions between its components and relies on those interactions to continue existing. For instance, a tight- knit neighbourhood can build a collective memory about the reputation of all of its members and develop norms to promote prosocial behaviour. "

@grimalkina if that isn't grounded on some Delanda right there, I'd be shocked (haven't read linked paper, but did just read Delanda in my last seminar 😊).

@grimalkina gotta love assemblage theory, more applicable than folks give it credit for

    @grimalkina Agree with your points; the paper leaves a lot to be desired. That small sample is doing a too much work and the methodology is meh (if you're going to talk loadings, then I need more that Hair's .5 baseline as "good enough", I'm not convinced of the face validity to those items scales... show me the EFA and the CFA...to your point, do a proper factor analysis and SEM...). Idea is interesting, but paper feels rushed.

    This chart is unrealistic because it doesn’t take into account the clickbait factor, among other things.

    @simevidas LOL that chart is nonsensical on soooo many levels.....but hey, animation! :jazz-hands:

    I take no credit for these images; this was the patience and stamina (holding a 100-400mm handheld!) of my youngest twin Eve (age 11). She saw this red tailed hawk making the rounds eyeballing our chicken's and she grabbed the nearest camera. Well done kiddo!

    A red tailed hawk takes off from the top of a redwood tree near Waterford, California.

    If you report an accessibility issue on a website, and the issue gets closed as “Won’t fix, due to the pending move to the new CMS”, does the accessibility issue still exist?

    justin,
    @justin@ribeiro.social avatar

    @simevidas the way we do accessibility with clients/partners, yes. The issue exists and is not closed until the remediation is complete (upgrade or not), but I see those sort of wontfix shenanigans all the time (and we reopen those much to their displeasure).
