@Eagle@TinyBreak and if you don't have it yet get a standing script for Ondasetron from your GP. Saved my ass 3 times in the first 12 months of my daughters many illnesses (yes, pretty much everything came from childcare, possibly one from swimming class) the one time I didn't have it with me was miserable and the first time I had worshipped at the porcelain throne since pregnancy (which, fortunately, I only had to once... yes I was very lucky)..
Expert reckons space junk, which could definitely include a Starlink. Jelly & wish I had seen it too, not like I wasn't getting woken up almost hourly last night by either cat or toddler. Hmph.
@bot001 looks like there is a helicopter doing bog laps above Brunswick West, anyone know why? I'm currently in Pascoe Vale South so just north of its circuit...
Anyone interested in a free ticket to Randy Feltface tomorrow night? I was umming about going and last minute saw Row A tickets being resold that wouldn't split, so I just went ahead and got the pair, and none of my friends are interested in coming along it turns out and I can't resell. 7pm, Palais Theatre, St Kilda. DM to discuss =) Would be sad for it to go to waste.
@RustyRaven@just_kitten I'm fortunate to have a house that was built for alpine conditions, so the insulation is exceptional. I want double glazing too, currently making do with less than ideal plastic cover on Velcro over the windows (like properly sewn ones designed for this use) which does help a lot, even though they look a bit naff.
@Seagoon_ yes, but usually there's someone willing and able to supply the power at a lower than silly price except at times when there is stonkingly excessive demand. It looks like something went awry in SA, but not sure what. Sure the right wing pundits will assume something about batteries failing...
@Seagoon_ see above - it's unusual without unusual circumstances, which I can't see, unless there's a power station offline or something. Vaguely remember r/melbourne sometimes being useful for these kinds of questions as someone would know something about the industry...
@useless_modern_god yup... I used to be very active on Reddit between 2017-2019, experimented briefly with Mastodon in 2018, but moved here pretty permanently when Space Karen bought Twitter last year. it's been fascinating watching the new waves each time he does a new idiotic thing, and the #Rexxit wave was even more exciting as it brought a different crowd and boosted the #Threadiverse, which is really good for the Fediverse ecosystem. I'm now experimenting with #firefish but am not sold yet, though the UI is very slick.
