hello! :3

this will be my new pinned post from now on which will also have the role of an post.

anyways, I'm Lynxmic - alternatively feel free to call me just "Lynx"). you may recognize me as "solarixtech" if we've got along for a while. 👀 my pronouns is he/they (meaning I accept both he/him and they/them).

soooo, just as my bio says, I'm basically a tech nerd (mostly on the software side, though). I am additionally interested in video games, graphic design, road transport (by extension public signage) and programming (mostly websites for now - and yes I have my own personal website where you can learn more about me https://lynxmic.github.io). :neocat:

I run a tech-oriented YouTube channel which currently is at over 430+ subscribers, I've been posting on it since 2016 although my content creation journey goes as far back as 2013 (at that time I was a kid who basically just wanted to try this stuff lmao) 📹

as for me, I'm not a very social person, so my posts aren't going to be frequent. Though, if you'd like to see me more often then why not join my Discord Server: https://discord.gg/wDxDKJU2sj (or, if you just want to add me/talk via DMs, my username is the same as here)

I originally joined the Fediverse in Oct 2022 (when Twitter began imploding) - I joined wetdry.world one month after and like it here so far! :fedi: :wdw:

Fun fact! On newer Android versions, looking through apps in settings, you can spot several Gingerbread-esque icons still being used on several system apps

Second example. "BadgeProvider" system app with 1.11 MB, still uses an old Android icon.
Also the 4.10KB "Bookmark Provider" system app, notice the old-styled bookmark icon. This is the 3rd example.

.....did YouTube just lock a free feature behind a Premium subscription paywall for mobile and tablet users?
