They can’t get kicked out but their voting rights in the councils could be suspended. That would require unanimous approval by all other member states.

In the past, Hungary under Orbán and Poland under Morawiecki had some kind of pact to protect each other from such a suspension. With Tusk now the Polish prime minister, that’s no longer the case, but there’s some fear that Slovakia’s Fico could shield Orbán instead.

Die FAZ kann sich anscheinend auch kein aufwendiges System mit Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung unter Angabe von E-Mail oder Mobilnummer leisten. Also nicht die böse F-Taste drücken! Ihr würdet schließlich auch kein Auto manipulieren.

Direkt hinter

EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen hatte zuletzt betont, dass die auf EU-Ebene getroffene Entscheidung zum sogenannten Verbrenner-Aus im Jahr 2026 überprüft wird. Im Jahr 2022 hatte sich die EU darauf geeinigt, dass von 2035 an keine Neuwagen mehr zugelassen.
