N3.5yo is now into the idea of opposites: short/tall, up/down, etc. So I asked for things he had not practiced. He thought about each for a few seconds.

The opposite of spoon? “Fork.”
Sick? “Ambulance”.
Kleenex? “Sneeze.”
Lego? “Taking away legos!”

There are a number of false narratives about the maths of Indigenous peoples, discussed in this important paper by Rowena Ball and Hongzhang Xu. Prof. Ball speaks Friday in the seminar I’m organizing at the Sydney Maths Research Institute.

Had a great visit to UniSA in Adelaide last week (thanks @nomad_penguin). At their Museum of Discovery, they have this terrific exhibit with the aperiodic monotile! You can take a hat/shirt sticker and affix it to the patterned walls. Over time it will eventually be filled.

Does anyone know of any other museum with such a large exhibit dedicated to the new aperiodic monotile?
