DRM, but for email sent to Recall-enabled systems.

@SteveBellovin What if Recall was actually created with the actual intent of increasing acceptance of DRM? ๐Ÿคช

@3DPrintingDad Oh, I abandoned Moto before Samsung for explicitly reneging on a security update promise.

@3DPrintingDad I honestly don't pay attention to Apple's repair policies. I carried an iPhone once for work and found it so much less usable than Android (which I had as a personal device at the same time) that I've had zero interest in trying any more Apple devices. Also, I can't stand the keyboards and trackpads on macbooks. So I'm just not motivated to track that.

The only reason I noticed was that a few weeks ago I was thinking "I'm glad I quit buying Samsung Android devices when they were doing so poorly on security updates" and it didn't occur to me that Google were going to try similarly bad tactics. (Confiscate, destroy; what's the difference to the device owner?)

@3DPrintingDad Just to be clear... Not trying to talk anyone else out of using them. This was... quite a while ago. โ˜บ

Back on my rotary broaching nonsense this evening, made a new broach. Mild nose dish (about 4ยฐ), through hole for pressure relief when broaching an undersize hole.

Man now I want a Rack Robotics EDM! Drilling 30mm with a 1/16" drill bit without breaking a bit and without wandering was a long task and tested my patience.

I haven't bought a toaster oven just for the shop for tempering, so my long-suffering family is putting up with a 2.5 hour 200ยฐC tempering cycle in the kitchen toaster oven. โค๏ธ

I can't wait until we are remembering the consumer product action around Microsoft's new screenlogger malware. "Do you recall the recall recall?"

Or maybe we'll have a who's on first skit about whether someone has yet acted on the consumer product action on their new Windows PC?

I can only hope...
