@3dprinting

meteyou,

@Stark9837 thx for your request. both sensors are not available in klipper, so i don't think i will add them. i try only to support klipper & moonraker features.

on Youtube compared building a or running to being an advanced 3D printing topic and implementing CAN bus to be even a step higher.

I am no beginner at electronics and I found serial to be thw failure of a few prints and I2C and SPI to also fail at larger distances, for obvious reasons, it is not what they are meant for.

I feel CAN bus has become the more mature communication protocol in Klipper and is quite popular in many new add-on boards and 3rd party expansions to your printer.

Has this been the experience for others who have either installed such boards or implemented their own code, Klipper, or even add-ons? Is it really such a pain, show I use it for my custom implementations, or should I just go the route for a custom enclosure to control fans, heating, and lights?

@3dprinting

meteyou,

@Stark9837 @3dprinting I have in all my printers a can toolhead board without issues.

I wouldn't use mqtt or something similar for an enclose, because all you need is already in Klipper. Just use a can board and you can just add all components to Klipper...

meteyou,

@Stark9837 @3dprinting AHH. And don't use mcp2515 chips! The buffer of it is too small and will create issues! They are not recommended by Klipper (should be in the docs)

I have been running for about 2 weeks now, and I am finally at the point that I am starting to implement features that I got with plugins.

One such feature is the timelapse functionality that gives you. It was quite simple, well sort of, but it could also be overwhelming. It had this sweet spot between functionality and complexity. But then again, that's the philosophy of . Go overkill with plugins or KISS.

But I digress.

I want to implement timelapses using Mainsail and its timelapse feature. Does anyone have a few good tips or stuff that I need to do, or maybe a write-up on it? The docs are quite good, I already read them, but I am just wondering.

@3dprinting

meteyou,

@Stark9837 @M0YNG @3dprinting it's also possible to have "hyperlapse" with a time based trigger and without parking.
