It's been about 5 days and I'm extremely pleased with #PeerTube self hosting. It is one of the few #fediverse software that's easy to run and manage. I hope other admins consider spinning up an instance.

Remember it's not about cloning youtube for every instance. It's about sharing YOUR videos on your instance and federating it to the wider PeerTube network.

Getting all mastodon admins to move to closed registrations is exactly what the spammers wanted. It was a smart move and exposes that there needs to be better moderation tools and ways to block spam.

I don't know if any of you have gone on Twitter lately.. but I just went to see how things are looking and omg they've RUINED the replies section of most tweets. It now shows related tweets before it shows replies.. so you have to keep scrolling sometimes just to see the first reply.
