Only read a section of the post but am i getting it correct that you’re basically defederating because of how many users are on the instances?
For now I disagree with this change because of world being the second biggest lemmy instance but I do understand the reasoning. Seeing how you also manage the third biggest instance this is probably gonna change lemmy as well
just so this doesn't overwhelm our front page too much, i think now's a good time to start consolidating discussions. existing threads will be kept up, but unless a big update comes let's try to keep what's happening in this thread instead of across 10....
Hello! To start my attempt at not lurking I am posting a link to the collection of links I have from Reddit regarding various Piracy sites. Please keep in mind this is my personal collection. You should ABSOLUTELY vet the links yourself. I am just a guy on the internet, I am not a trusted source. This is not a complete list....
the big stickied thread is getting cluttered with lots of new people and the "how was your week" thread isn't a great fit for introductions, so it seems about time to make this a dedicated thread of its own so peoples' posts aren't getting lost....
Hey thread, made an account on here yesterday in the case that reddit actually decides to go through with the api change. My pronouns are he/him, and I like to make content on YouTube. Sorry for the short reply, not sure what else to put here.
Once they nuke third party apps I'm gonna start using it on desktop exclusively, but I'm not even sure if I'll be able to do that for long, I feel like old reddit is on it's way out too.
Beehaw is defederating from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works, two large lemmy instances
See Beehaw's Post to find out why
ANNOUNCEMENT: defederating effective immediately from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works
hey folks, we'll be quick and to the point with this one:...
Jer(ule)ma (files.catbox.moe)
firefox rule (lemmy.world)

Is there any good alternative to imgur for uploading screenshots?
I mainly use imgur to upload screenshots using sharex, would appreciate being pointed in the direction of any alternative.
a megathread for developments on Reddit and with third-party Reddit apps

Lemmy is so active that I am for the first time using the "active" tab instead of "new" ^^
Amazing feeling.
The Apollo dev banned and removed all my comments suggesting Lemmy as an alternative to reddit. (lemmy.ml)
I usually don't get too salty about these things, but that seemed uncalled for, especially since I'm on their side.
a more formal beehaw introduction thread
the big stickied thread is getting cluttered with lots of new people and the "how was your week" thread isn't a great fit for introductions, so it seems about time to make this a dedicated thread of its own so peoples' posts aren't getting lost....
Do you play VR?
Wondering whether there is a VR community here. What systems? What games?...
Do you use reddit mostly through the app or web?
Because I only use web, on mobile and desktop. I can't live without adblock.
"Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year [...]" (libreddit.nl)
...to keep running as is....
