noyou,

The only reason this hasnt happened with valve is because it’s a private company. Publically traded companies are the cancer of ou society tbh

noyou,

Settling out of court is not setting a legal precedent

noyou,

Maybe. My guess is they just didn’t want to go through the trouble, since it would have been a long war.

noyou,

Fully agree. Why is renting a movie the same cost as a month of some random subscription service? Then you also get a copy you can only watch for like 24 hours. If you “buy” you still dont get access to the file, just some digital copy that can be taken away at any point.

uhrbaan, to fediverse

@fediverse Fediverse user growth jumped to ~50'000'000 users. What happened ?
The FediDB Fediverse User Growth graph shows a significant jump in user count in February. Software distribution is also 81% other, and the biggest server is fediverse.hanbitgaram.com with 39 million users ! What happened ?

noyou,

Me too thanks

noyou,

Good service should result in my continued patronage. This means the business is succesful and the employees deserve a raise. This is how it works for everyone else…

Why we’ve decided people delivering food to you should get a tip is beyond me. I don’t tip my mechanic, grocery store worker or the cleaner at the office. They all deliver a direct service to you as well, but they shouldn’t get a tip?

noyou,

Could use github.com/trapexit/mergerfs if you dont care about losing data. My 3 disks basically show up as one.

noyou,

I actually went out and got Chromecasts + a VPN to my network. Now I just threw it out altogether and set up jellyfin instead.

noyou,

It’s so damn great to just be able to power on the TV and instantly start watching what I want.

No navigating through a mess of a menu. No pre roll ads. No “recommended” content all over my stuff. No thinking of which service has what. It’s also a bit faster since I can stream locally.

noyou,

Can concur. The hdmi cable to my living room broke, and I tried steam link on my shield but it was way too much input lag. With moonlight however I cannot tell the difference anymore, it honestly feels as direct as having it connected via hdmi. This is with direct pc - cat6 - router - cat6 - shield though.

noyou,

For real i have a 5800x3d and 4080 it shouldn’t be running the way it is
