I propose a new technical verb: “to Curlsh”, meaning to blindly run something you found on the internet.

Derived from piping a curl’d script into a shell (curl|sh), it can be used like a “YOLO” cry as you do something reckless - “Fuck it lets curlsh it live!!” - or as a despairing rant as you face the consequences of yours or someone else’s actions: “This whole install is basically curlshed.”

—Confess all your sins, child.
—I have curlshed. Multiple times.

If you are a person who cares about all modes of transport and live in Christchurch, please fill the survey about Park Terrace.

I drive there about once a week, and I am happy to see that one lane is safely available for cyclists.

For today's 2 chord, Gm7, we'll be using a Bb triad based on an open A triad. This puts our b3(Bb) on strings 4 & 1, our 5(D) on string 3, & our b7(F) on string 2. Remember, context is everything. In a vacuum, this is just a Bb chord, but in context it can work as a Gm7.
Play on!

ojala,
@ojala@mastodon.nz avatar

@UkuleleG3orge I saw that and Bb! Until I read context...

@UkuleleG3orge I love finding chords that fit the song but add something especial. When I'm in a lesson sometimes we look for ways of getting chords with more than 4 notes in the uke. With root and 5th usually the first candidates to go.

I was listening, again, to the video for Rush's Tom Sawyer when I saw this face (at 2:37). I couldn't remember where I saw it before.

So, took a screenshot, uploaded it to yandex.com and voilà: Poster for the movie Eraserhead (1977).

By the way, Andrew Rooney presents a very good explanation of the drums part of the song: amazing work. That and the bass line are my favourite parts.

etc

I don't understand the idea that the Fediverse HAS to grow to compete with service X or it will be irrelevant.

Firstly a network has to be useful to its members, who do not necessarily want to be driving the news cycle.

The need for continuous growth and influence comes from investors looking at making a profit, independently of how damaging the network becomes to members and overall society.
