✨ I guess I'm an user now. Leap is great, KDE looks fantastic!

@louis ThinkPad X270, runs like butter, I can’t complain about performance (but I also don’t use anything fancy—mainly Emacs, Firefox and Konsole).

Recently released version (2.4.4) finally fixes ’ bug related to saving encrypted files (no more hanging on save, thus no more workarounds like falling back to previous GnuPG versions or sketchy settings leading to data loss).

🦬 I've just found out about Emacs' very own Revision Control System. I'll just C-x v v all day long, so today is a good day! #emacs

@pymander I don’t want to use any installed VCS, I want to use Emacs’ RCS. I’ll check vc-handled-backends values, as Andy suggested, maybe defaults differ from macOS to Windows.

@holgerschurig I don’t need a complex CVS/git setup, I just need per-file versioning, as simple as it gets. That’s why I was glad I found https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/RevisionControlSystem. I’m not really sure what happens when I press ‘C-x v v’ on macOS, but I’ll look into it, since it seems enough to satisfy my needs.

I was always intimidated by the task of installing and configuring , to have my emails inside (on macOS). It's not just geeky, but it's also a good idea to have all your email messages (synced) on your local machine; for backup purposes, but also to have access to all your emails while being offline.

Apparently, it's not that difficult to have a working configuration (maybe using Fastmail helps in this endeavor, since Fastmail plays nice with standards).

After reading, fiddling with, and adapting a few guides I found on the internet, I wrote my own, available here: https://rotfl.weblog.lol/2024/01/using-mu4e-for-reading-emails-in-emacs-on-macos-a-fastmail-setup

Hello Haiku OS on bare metal Thinkpad X1, with Emacs installed. It's insanely fast.

Audio, Wifi + Nipple work, Bluetooth and Touchpad do not (yet).

@louis @haiku Can Emacs run fullscreen on Haiku?
