My favorite thing to do with the time I majored in Spanish?

Not tell a goddamn soul and listen to what people say about the dorky white guy when they think I don't understand.

The least believable part of the Dune reboot is Stellan Skarsgård playing someone overweight.

Trust me, that's a compliment.

Dear Math Masto,

I've been fascinated by this approach to choosing a random element from a very large sequence since I found out about it years ago.

Does anyone know where I can find out more about it?

It is discussed as "Method 2" in this link:

I posted this several years back when we were still waiting for the release of FF7:Remake.

Having finished Rebirth, I think you can consider me sated. It's not what I was hoping for, but Squeenix have done right by the classic, IMHO.

I'm confused. Itanium was indeed introduced over 20 years ago, but it's... what's the opposite of dominant?

One thing they don't tell you about apartment life:

If your unit number is the same as (or close to) the the street number, you WILL receive someone else's packages AND DoorDash.

Hello all!

StrangeLoop is gone, and I'm left looking for a quality programming/technology conference to deplete my limited event funds.

What events do you attend whenever possible? Or that look promising?

No wrong answers! Feel free to boost for visibility, too!

I, like many others, have criticized George Lucas for frequent revisions of his own work.

That discounts the effort it must take to make such frequent revisions cohesive in one unified world.

I'm not sure this is not a challenge that Neil Gaiman has been asked to meet, being able to reinvent even his most iconic characters like Lucifer, Wednesday, Mazikeen, and others; new revisions for every medium, every series.

It's probably telling that Morpheus has been most consistent of his characters.

I can't really see using this on a computer that already has a keyboard... but I could really see this as a game controller addon. https://www.tindie.com/products/arturo182/bb-q20-keyboard-with-trackpad-usbi2cpmod/

I'm trying to reconcile the following two facts:

  1. The only reason Hollywood has been adapting so many comics to TV and film is because they don't want to pay writers for original content.

  2. I'm ecstatic that so many great comics are getting adaptations, and don't want it to end.

Hey Lazy Masto,

Now that [at]mxcl seems to be doubling down on his LLM/blockchain fuckery, it occurs to me I might not want to use homebrew either.

What alternatives can other macOS natives recommend for third-party software package management?

Please feel free to boost for visibility if you feel like it!

Cheers, Tim
