Is anyone able to explain Kazuha's swirling mechanics to me like I'm 5? I'm running Neuvillette/Furina/Miko/Kazuha, setting up Miko's turrets first then using skill and burst for Kazuha in the middle of the turrets, but I feel like I'm not swirling. I could also just be missing it, but the wind gfx don't change to purple (it's very noticable when he swirls pyro). Is it a Miko problem? Is it a me problem???

@capriciousvisage if there's multiple elements present there's a priority of what gets swirled, in order of Pyro > Hydro > Electro > Cryo (for most characters, lynette and anemo traveler prioritize cryo > pyro > hydro > electro)

what this means is, if you're not swirling anything, you're not close enough to your target. But if you're not swirling the right element, either with your E or with your burst, you need to change the order of skills you're using

Power creep is a sensitive subject but especially in gacha games as people can potentially spend a lot of money to win a unit that is incredibly strong but can theoretically be phased out of relevancy with new units. However, I don’t think enough people realise that gameplay mechanics can force power creep more than developers purposely designing obsolescence.

has power creep (Kazuha > Sucrose) but it’s relatively flat. 5* > 4* but the 4* units can be amazing with investment.

@Born2beSlicker I don't disagree in principal but genshin has genuinely avoided most instances of power creep. Kazuha is seeing less play in high level teams whereas sucrose's em buff became increasingly relevant with the addition of dendro. The 1.0 4*s are broadly still the best units in the game, and they've never been truly powercrept. Xiangling has no parallel, xingqiu is better than yelan, fischl is better than yae. Furina and Bennett are both buffers, broadly, but furina requires more commitment to enable her while Bennett is plug and play.

@Born2beSlicker the exception being hypercarries, since 5* versions of intended 4* hypercarries are going to be better just because they have a higher stat volume and that's stronger, but when in the event of things like cyno vs razor, or old 5* vs new 5* like keqing vs yae or Hu Tao vs Arlecchino, there's enough differences to where one isn't going to strictly outshine another in every circumstance, and old characters preserving a niche is big

Skill-based gameplay definitely makes a difference though, you can get away with worse characters and have them function enough that you as a player can make up the difference.

@Born2beSlicker I mean, there are increasingly few 4* characters that can't be played anywhere, I don't mind new 4*s being niche so long as they're successful somewhere and by that metric, hyv has succeeded. I think characters having hyper-specific niches they succeed within us better than releasing increasingly busted characters, or worse, just never releasing good characters in the first place.

not gonna lie literally the only thing keeping me from daily driving linux is the fact that im a valorant player that's looking forward to 2xko. there's absolutely ZERO shot i'll ever be able to play either game on linux lmao

the shitty firmware on my framework laptop hurting its battery life doesn't help either, but given how little i use my laptop that's a pretty minor gripe

@bass its a matter of convenience tbh, if a friend wants to play valorant or something I don't want to have to be like "hold on be right back let me reboot my computer" and if im spending most of my time on windows i dont want to have to double my time getting my desktop set up how i like it so i can use not-windows some of the time.

i dont hate windows I just wish I had more of a say in this equation lol. I do hate the kernel-level anticheat, wish there was like any way around that. Wish I could like, pass through valorant to a windows partition from my linux install or something, but alas

@missquote tbh it's mostly just that normal attacking forever and not having any other like. Depth? To her play style? Is boring to me mechanically.

Like other normal attack characters have to position in cool ways (neuv) or get to dodge and do cool combo stuff (itto, wrio)

Yoi's kit feels like a first draft for other normal attackers that came later and that sucks :( but that's just me I don't wanna like yuck ur yum she's super cute and I 100000% get loving her
