I’ve been using konsole (and iterm2 on my work mac) for most of my working career, but on the linux side, I’ve recently switched to Kitty, but now I’m wondering if I can finally get used to just using emacs on both....
Yes, I have been using eshell exclusively for the last 7 years. It does have a few drawbacks, but for me it’s definitely a win overall due to a) everything being in a buffer, b) being able to run both elisp functions and executables from the command line, and c) tramp.
P.s. I chuckled a bit when you mentioned sixel graphics support as modern. :) Jokes aside, I have my own toy implementation of sixel graphics in elisp, so decent emacs support is probably out there already.
Is there a way to configure Emacs to lock certain files/buffers to specific tabs? For example, if I want all ERC buffers to stay in the ERC tab, or a selected set of org files to stay in the Org tab, etc.
SDF is my favorite instance hands off, but I noticed it's way slower for me than other instances with inferior setup. I measured the time of loading posts and communities, and it's loading around 3-4 times slower than other instances. I am based in EU. Regardless, I will continue to use it, as I love you all here on SDF :)...
I've created a #SoloRPG community over on the #Lemmy instance https://lemm.ee. Lemmy is a #Reddit lookalike for the Fediverse. The community is available at https://lemm.ee/c/solorpg (the recommended way of accessing it), but it can also be followed from any Fediverse account by following @solorpg.
