I just realized that I've been using adblock so consistently, for so long, that I have basically no idea what the average person's experience of the internet is like.

Every now and then I use someone else's device that isn't so locked down. And I'm floored by how useless and annoying the internet is. IDK how people do this.

@sidereal It's gotten to the point where every time I have to interact with a device I haven't set up personally I just look at the owner and go "You live like this?"

@sidereal @cour13r5 My new job sadly has me finding myself behind the wheel of one of U-Haul's silverado's way too often for this urban-cyclist's tastes... It's too fucking big, and frankly I need all those bells and whistles to navigate that fucking boat through an urban environment... but I'd so much rather have an old Ford Ranger or if I'm really dreaming, a Kei truck.

    @rose I'm hopefully going to do my second refurb soon (those looking to do the same thing with beefy storage should learn from my mistake and avoid the 6th gen!) but my move to linux has meant I need to find new software to manage the iPod from my computer. I used to use MusicBee. What have you been using?

    @rose Yeah, that's how I've been limping along, but I miss being able to have a cataloguing software handle the sync, especially with podcasts.
