I recently looked at Quora for the first time longer than 30 seconds, and jesus christ that place is basically a faux-academic Fox News comments section

The graph is accurate. Seeing the corona is a near spiritual experience. It’s the most I’ve ever been aware of floating through space, if that makes sense

Coming to Finland from the US, I was surprised at the relatively higher use of machinery at things like construction sites. For example, using a bulldozer for moving small piles of dirt that I think in America would have been handled by a couple guys with shovels. Environmental question aside, the use of machinery in this way is good for labor QoL and longevity. Americans don’t realize how much harder they work for less pay.

I watched a few minutes of it when it aired, since I can’t bring myself to unsub his YT.

First few words out of his mouth are, paraphrasing: “this is about the political revolution, and I have outlined in my book how we’re going to reform capitalism”

You’re a parody of yourself

They’re tankies, ie radical communists who support authoritarian regimes like North Korea and the CP, and fully support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Libs thinking about worldviews in this backward way is a reflection of how their brains work.

First pick a team, then embrace the ideology.

A liberal cannot comprehend theory forming the basis of a worldview. Hence the the reduction of all radical theory to “they support the evil dictators!!!”

Biden barely tolerates abortion, he personally doesn’t like it because of his Christianity and only supports it because it would be political suicide for him not to

Runaway truck ramps are common in the Appalachians too, anywhere there is a long stretch of a steep grade. Some sections there will be a truck speed limit of 20mph while cars can go 55.

Requiring snow chains though, that’s hardcore.

No, China doesn’t count because that would challenge my worldview. I know I’m right, I just haven’t figured out how yet.

If China did the same thing with state resources this dude would have a half chub for the rest of his life

I feel like big_yikes is wrong for else. It would work better to replace Exception. Then use something like hits_different for else.
