Bike bag is no soaking in some techwash. Really hope I can get the smell out.

Very glad I have a hepa filter with a carbon element. It's currently clearing the stink of what ever it was died in my bike bag from the room.

I thought this flag came from all the glass on the fietspad. But nope. It's a thorn. Not the biggest I've ever removed, but certainly one of the more annoying.

On the plus side. I've now fixed my rear inner tube. Hole was in exactly the same place as the previous tube. Close inspection shows I missed a thorn sticking through the outer.

Hopefully this fix will hold air.

Well that was vile and smelly. Found something that was once food in the bottom of my bike food bag. I'm not sure what it once was, but now it's turned into liquid. And it stinks.

Have now evicted it to the bin.

Have dug the bike work stand out of the basement and set it up in the living room. Now all I need to do is get the bike setup in it.

Saw someone posting about going to their local labour launch. Was disappointed to discover this was launching their election campaign, and not launching labour with a trebuchet...

First Devon, now south east London. UK tap water safety is seriously under threat.

The Privatised water experiment has been a dismal failure that has only lead to enriching a few individuals at the expense of everyone else.

We need to end this experiment now.

When did people forget how to pronounce niche properly? I keep hearing people pronounce it to thyme with itch. It makes no sense.

sewblue,

@quixoticgeek oh, autocorrect. Thyme with itch.

@sewblue yeah. I spotted that too late :(

If the burger you have made is so tall it's not actually possible to take a bike out of it, you have failed at making a burger.

This Duolingo exercise made me laugh way too much. I fully expect future lessons to include:

Ik woon in een grote emmer.

Dinsdag komt er aan, heb je je jas?

I'm also curious if many other people will get the reference.

Grocery delivery window of 0800-1200 resulted in the doorbell ringing at 0748. On the plus side, ice-cream has arrived. Downside. ETooEarly.

Going back to bed now.

Hey, @frameworkcomputer, can we have a laptop with a nipple in the middle of the keyboard. (Like on a ThinkPad). Please.

We've all been having a good laugh about sparkling autocarrot suggesting that people include glue in the cheese on pizza, and that we should all eat rocks.

But at the same time, you can buy mushroom identification books in Amazon that are "written" using sparkling autocarrot.

Actual printed books. On how to tell very similar poisonous and non poisonous mushrooms apart. Something that is really hard for skilled humans in some cases.

Who has liability when people start dying?

@quixoticgeek Don't trust any books printed after 2020.

Do I want to tidy up the living room enough that I can repair my bike on the floor... Or go all the way to the basement to get the work stand ?

petererer,

@quixoticgeek extreme opinion but workstand does make it easier to start tackling too much and then have to wait for new tools and parts to arrive...

quixoticgeek,
@quixoticgeek@v.st avatar

@petererer given I keep a parts inventory that has at times been better stocked than Shimano UK, that's less of an issue.
