@puppygirlhornypost i used to be tempted to say it is only okay in non-adversarial settings. ie at my last job, my immediate team, we respected each other, had no expectation of immediate response, we were safe people etc and it might as well have been short-form non-instant. very useful and friendly.

but my boss? she should not have had the ability to do that. i spent a lot of time unable to work because i was too afraid that any moment i might get that nightmare DM, "how's [thing] going?"

that alone makes it not okay.

@vantablack idk if any of my coming-outs were on fedi, i kinda just added new adjectives when i instance hopped? like i was out as trans before fedi, but i realized i was plural after joining and told a few friends. but i dont remember if i was open about that on octodon or not. it went in my bio here immediately tho. i thought, skip the coming outs, new audience
