Remember everyone, ALAB. All landlords are bad.

Almost all of them are absolute pieces of shit who have a nasty victim-oppressor mentality, and they see their tenants as hostile.

The very few that don't have this issue, you know the ones y'all have that make you want to reply-guy my posts with "my landlord is great though", still hold housing for hostage and gain equity on a property (i.e. wealth) every single time their tenant cuts them a check, while the tenant is left with nothing.

Fuck every single landlord.

    Last boost: yes, trans women do have issues with internalized misogyny, because all women have internalized misogyny, and we're women.

    But you, cis woman, can keep that specific targeted critique of my community out of your fucking mouth.

    It is weird that a lot of sapphic romance media (books, movies, and shows) centers around bi, pan, etc femmes and rarely centers the lesbian, and even rarely has lesbian4lesbian relationships.

    This isn't really reflective to the lesbian experience and community.

    But in mlm media, this isn't the dynamic at all. Most mlm media though contains gay men, and centers gay men.

    This bullshit going on reminds me about something that happened on the Fedi a few years back about how this popular tankie dude was trying to debunk the poverty draft with some study from the Cato Institute that didn't say what he thought it said.

    I got a freckle pen but it definitely makes the freckles look weird, so I might try this

    @reginasbread I also learned, from watching a video on this, that it's helpful to apply another layer of foundation on top of the freckles to make them look natural. So I'm getting an education here.

    Pros of being gay: girls

    Cons of being gay: girls are so pretty it's hard to form the words necessary to talk to them

    @JoscelynTransient I do agree, drag is cool as shit.

    I do, however, think that that criticisms go beyond the cishet conflation. Drag has historically had issues with being centered around cis gay men and having issues with transmisia. That obviously is not all drag, but certainly a significant amount.

    But then also the nuance has to be held that drag has been an important part of many people's transitions, and has been a way for them to explore that space. Also, there is an obvious intersection with the struggle against criminalization of people doing drag and criminalization of just existing as a trans person.

    I'm not sure what these people are saying, just your account of them, so I can't really tease out the issue. But I think we can criticize the conflation and transmisia within drag and still appreciate it as intersected with our struggle.

    But what could be possible also (and I've seen personally) is that like cishets and the greater LGBTQ+ community loves putting drag in every single event but not celebrating other parts of the trans experience, and it might be possible that some trans women might express frustration at that antagonistically to drag.

    Me, shooting my shot at a meatspace girl: so, what Linux distro do you and your girlfriend use?

    Girl: confused, wondering why I just assumed she was gay, polyam, and a computer nerd

    But like seriously, the Fedi has ruined my understanding of how people actually work.

    Like I'll be watching a show about how some woman is upset because her man is ogling some hot tattooed girl and I'm like, "I don't get it, are you mad because your boyfriend is making a move before you have a chance to?"

    This conversation I'm currently having is making me think about something.

    So back in 2020, in what was basically the last real conversation I ever had with my dad, he brought up about how my grandma and grandpa went out with my uncle and aunt to dinner or something, which was a long standing tradition. My aunt and uncle (my grandma's sister and her husband) started saying a bunch of Trumper shit. My Grandpa, who hates Trump, because he "never seen such a fascist", got really mad at them, and they fell out.

    My Dad, being the libshit he is, was talking about how my Gpa should have been civil and shouldn't of let political stuff get in the way of family, ya know.

    It's wild to me that when car dependency is brought up, what is actually "A whole bunch of people live in the suburbs and rural areas because of cars" is framed as "People in the suburbs and rural areas need cars".

    salad_bar_breath,
    @salad_bar_breath@todon.nl avatar

    @freequaybuoy the thing with that though is that the automobile being mass produced and distributed makes it so roads are often more congested, making it difficult for Fire and EMS to get on site. Not to mention car culture drives more people to live in lower ring suburbs and rural areas making rescue access difficult. Plus the significantly amount of casulties and destruction from so many personal vehicles stretches EMS and Fire resources.

    Cars' mass production and consumption actually makes EMS and Fire less effective. It would save more lives if those were among the few vehicles on the road. So car culture results in a net loss of lives saved by fire and ambulance as well.

    It's amazing to me that the average Fedi user has three masters degrees, a PhD, and a JD, but somehow still manages to divorce single toots from their entire context and analyze them in the most unfavorable way possible like a right wing media pundit.

    salad_bar_breath,
    @salad_bar_breath@todon.nl avatar

    But then again, I guess right wing media outlets have a lot of people with a lot of degrees that look at the information and still put it out there.

    salad_bar_breath,
    @salad_bar_breath@todon.nl avatar

    So I guess either one of two things are happening.

    1. Colleges just aren't teaching critical thinking skills at any level.

    Or more likely...

    1. It's beneficial to analyze "bites" in this way.

    Like can we get over this dichotomy of sex being biological and gender being social? Please?

    salad_bar_breath,

    @amy that's true 🤷‍♀️ I didn't even think of that. How we examine everything in biology is a social construction.
