It was such a strange rescue. I’ve rescued lots of wildlife, but never bats. We always get told bats are full of diseases and not to touch them, so I had no idea what to do. So I had to call the rescuers. The bat seemed very angry with the rescuers, who were kind and gentle and giving much needed electrolytes. But it kept staring at me like it was in love with me. After telling the rescuers how I sit outside at night sometimes and see the eerie twinkle of bat’s eyes staring at me. The rescuers figured the bats must’ve been keeping a file on me. So when this one needed help, it knew to come to me. Maybe it doesn’t sound like much to other people, but it really changed my life. That bat and I helped each other.

I joined Mastodon when Musk took over Twitter. That didn’t really work out. So I stuck to Reddit. Then spez started up with the API nonsense, and I kept seeing stuff about Lemmy. Checked it out, and here I am.

I was sitting by the lagoon when these two waddled up, hassling me for food. They were leaning on me, showing their “teeth” (I know they’re not really teeth. The serrated rows of sharp things in their beaks). I gently pushed them off me, and gave one of them a scratch on the belly. Then they struck a pose so I could take this pic.

I was playing the piano bit over and over again, just to warm up my fingers. Then the ticking, and drums, and orchestral strings began swirling in my head. So this was my attempt at capturing that. It turned out much more intense than I meant it to, but I like it.

A lot of people have said a lot of my music sounds like video game music. I used to be so offended, because I thought they meant the cheap and nasty 8-bit stuff. But I’ve since learnt (I don’t play video games) that modern video game music is actually very sophisticated and soundtrack-like.

Thank you! I used Fruity Loops. The drums were samples - I put every bit of it into piano roll one by one. I don’t know the correct term for it…

Soup always makes me feel better. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something hot and healthy and tasty. And a piece of bread to mop up afterwards.

Have you ever been sexually attracted to someone you found repulsive?

It happened to me recently at work. I don’t even find her physically attractive, and her personality is not what I’m into at all. But I was still somehow attracted to her - and she also was to me. She didn’t like me, and I certainly am not the kind of man she goes for. It’s like we had a strong connection in one area...

Actually, one of my exes really liked a song called Fuck Me Like You Hate Me. She was also quite hatable. It added some spice in the bedroom, but a high price was paid. I’m not really interested in revisiting that…

Haha I had a similar experience with an Asian lady several years ago. I was lost and asked her for directions into town. She had the prettiest face, and a dainty little physique. She answered me in a sweet manner… then turned around to her family… and screeched in a loud, twangy, pitchy yelling voice. It completely changed how attractive I found her, but I thought a similar thing about earplugs.
