Es kommt mir leider auch so vor, als wäre die Protest-Bubble relativ klein und auf Reddit läuft vieles einfach weiter wie bisher. Allerdings bleibt abzuwarten wie das ab dem 1. Juli wird, wenn die meisten Drittanbieter-Apps ihre Dienste einstellen.

The initial search doesn't work in Jerboa. You have to do it in the web interface of your instance. Search once for !xxx on web and after that you do a normal community search in Jerboa for xxx
Ich habe mal gelesen, dass es in der Stadt im Haushalt gar nicht viel bringt Wasser zu sparen, da die Kanalisation auf einen "normalen" Wasserverbrauch ausgelegt ist. Sollten alle in der Stadt Wasser sparen, würde angeblich die dadurch entstehende Wartung/Spülung der Kanalisation mehr Wasser verbrauchen als durch die Haushalte bei normalen Wasserverbrauch.

Reddit refuge here, just getting comfortable in Kbin/Lemmy and plan to eventually join in the rest of the Fediverse, and thinking Mastodon would be my next step.
Choose an instance with a community that suits you. Like a hobby, interests or a regional one. I'm on a regional instance for northern germany, so my local timeline is all toots from that region which is pretty nice.
Don't go for the big ones like mastodon .social, it's against the idea of federation to have huge instances with millions of users
Allein der Anmeldevorgang und die Technik hinter solchen alternativen Netzwerken ist für den 08/15-User, der nur mal in der Mittagspause ein paar Memes schauen will, zu viel Aufwand.
Das lese ich immer wieder, wenn es um Alternativen zu großen Netzwerken geht. Warum ist das so? Der einzige Unterschied sind die Instanzen, ansonsten lege ich mir auch nur nen Account an, wie auf den großen Plattformen auch. So schwierig ist das nicht.
