I'm 5 years sober! Life is good.

It's been 5 years since I've had my last beer. I've been drinking alcohol since I was 17 years old, I quit when I was 36. Growing up alcohol was always present during birthdays and other parties, it was part of life. I lived in a small town and every weekend most people were going out and would drink beer. I absolutely loved the...

sylverstream,

It has integrated Intel graphics, not a separate GPU.

sylverstream,

Yes, but I think it’s because of OpenVino. Some other people with Intel HD using OpenVino had similar issues. I’ve just switched to another model based on this post.

sylverstream,

I’ve been sober for 5.5 years. Recently we had a party and someone gave us champagne. I thought, well it’s been 5.5 years, I should be able to handle a glass. After a couple of sips I felt the urges so much more intense than before. I had another glass, already causing some weird looks from close people, and felt bad afterwards. Since then, now and then the idea of trying again slipped into my mind. Feels like my mind is tricking me that I should try again. We’re on a weekend break away now, so another reason for my mind to say that it would be okay to drink.

I read my notes from when I quit, with reasons why I quit, as I thought I would need them later. That definitely helped. Still, having urges :(

Why can’t I drink like most normal people :( Thanks for reading.

sylverstream,

When I was still drinking, I never understood people drinking tea. Now I really enjoy it. We just try different flavours green tea/herbal tea/black tea/etc from: www.tleaft.co.nzThey ship world wide but I guess there is something in your area too.

sylverstream,

Good stuff, congrats

sylverstream,

I’ve flashes LibreTiny (fork of Esphome) on my Tuya devices, on a IR blaster and a relay. Took some time to understand how it worked, but then it worked like a charm. Now they are just esphome devices, no more Tuya stuff.

sylverstream,

Shelley 1

So, there’s no way to manually turn it on? In my case, I’d add the Shelly inside the well, wired to the Fan, and will always have the Fan switch on?

Easiest way to create player targets for Music Assistant to connect to an active speaker via SPDIF for <$30 ? Squeezelite seems like a good candidate, but unsure how to connect to SPDIF

I’m struggling to find the easiest solution to connect a set of active speakers that have BT/Optical (Toslink)/Coax. I currently use a tablet to stream Deezer via BT, but I want to be able to use them in Music Assistant. I tried Bubblepnp on the tablet, but it’s too slow for that, it wasn’t reliable....

sylverstream,

Thanks mate, much appreciated. That’s what I mean, it’s complicated… I have no idea what extra hardware I’d need. I just want to connect it via Coaxial and the only thing I can find is very complicated docs like you found :)

BT is not an option as I’d like to keep using the tablet directly to BT in case MA/HA is down.

sylverstream,

MA and HA are hosted on a RPi4 in the garage, not near the speakers.

sylverstream,

Thanks for the long reply! I’ve tested Fully Kiosk again and now it seems to work perfectly. Previously it was not reliable, guess they have fixed it.
