Cieżki dzień. Rano przypadkowe spotkanie z przedstawicielem handlowym ogólnopolskiej hurtowni w lokalnym sklepiku.

Nasz sklepik jest naszą linią życia. Tu zaopatrujemy się we wszystko niezbędne do życia. Jest wiele rzeczy, których tu nie kupimy. Wybór warzyw jest mizerny, mięsa (których praktycznie w ogóle nie kupujemy) tylko najtańsze. Zapomnij o gorgonzoli. Ale da się tu kupić wszystko niezbędne do przeżycia.

Tu kurierzy zostawiają dla nas przesyłki, bo darujemy im sześciu kilometrów (tam i z powrotem) drogi do nas, przez błoto i wyboje. I bez tego mają już przerąbane.

Ów przedstawiciel w rozmowie opowiedział, że jego hurtownia w ubiegłym roku straciła 170 sklepików wiejskich – bo się zamknęły. A to umarła osoba właścicielska, a to wykończyły je koszty prowadzenia interesu. W tym roku zamknęło im się już 70.

Nie wiem, czy ktoś policzył koszty społeczne zamknięcia takich sklepików. Osoby starsze, osoby bez samochodów, stają sie zupełnie skazane na łaskę rodziny czy znajomych?

A short thread about Barbie, drills, and #LoRaWAN. This is our basic drill with an attachment to make standard size holes in plastic. Today we decided to put the second LoRaWAN gateway up – signals from some sensors didn't get through when the gataway and the antenna lied on the dogs' favorite couch in our tiny house.

In our sparsely populated hamlet we know most of the dogs, and those didn't look familiar.

Praktycznie nie używam tu słów obraźliwych, ale to co zrobił premier RP w sprawie Nature Restoration Law to wyjątkowe bydło. Razem z Orbanem (którego nie mogę publicznie znieważać, bo za to w Polsce grozi kara więzienia). Mamy więc nadal zgodę na jebanie przyrody.

Na zdjęciach ta sama podmokła łąka w 2021 i 2024. nie mają już gdzie się kąpać.

Zosia update: left to herself in an uninhabited (but warm) house full of junk Zosia didn't do any damage. Except for chewing through the main Ethernet cable to our tiny house. Fixed now, wonder if she'll have another go at it. She doesn't realize that Internet is probably the best way of finding her humans. Or maybe she does.

Since yesterday afternoon (UTC+01:00) many of our rural Internet customers started complaining about the quality of our service. Low transfer speeds, loss of connection. No fun for anyone in Eastern Poland who wasn't lucky enough to get fibre (surprisingly, fibre coverage in rural areas is pretty good compared to the US or UK – most of it was built with money from the European Union). But fibre can't reach everywhere, and this is where we come in. But the last 24 hours were hell, and we don't know when this will end, although we know the cause. Let's start the story with those two Russian saints from the 11th century, Boris and Gleb. 1/n
