I’ve always said bar or line, especially with time axis. In cases like this, you usually use a line as it usually isn’t linear growth anyway and you’d use a logarithm to predict where it’d be in 2027.

Of course they’re just bullshitting that 100% as real predictions wouldn’t ever get there.

My TIL has nothing to do with who they acquired today but rather that they own Humble Bundle. When did that happen? I did notice in a bundle they were wrapping in an IGN account I had no interest in. (Friends often have to use that for gifting games cause of steam region locks).

I’ll never forget my first buy out experience when GameSpot bought GameFAQs. Who themselves got bought or passed around, now under Fandom (who incidentally owns metacritic and more) and itself is owned by TPG, whos whole business is just owning shit or parts of shit.

In hindsight that’s also my first experience with enshittification. GG, teenage me.

He kind of already earned my vote by subsidizing my clean energy HVAC (which I reinvested in a TV, lol) but I also look at places like Japan and am glad our inflation isn’t as bad as it could have been. The yen lost so much purchasing power, in particular cause of not raising interest. We support family there, so our money goes a longer way. It’s nice.

From now to November, though? Harder to say given he’s hamstrung by Congress. There’s dozens of things any administration could do to make the U.S. a better place, with public transportation, environment and education being some of my concerns. Education in particular isn’t nearly addressed enough, and early childhood education policies in particular impact me personally. I’d be so down for a free program for my 2 year old!

But that ain’t gonna happen, lol.

What reading style do you consider more tedious to read, A) short, concise, and precise, but using non-layperson vocabulary, B) using layperson vocabulary, but it's longer, drawn out, and not precise?

I’ve seen a lot of people on here be teased for difficulty expressing themselves. Either people complain “you’re using big person words to describe mundane things” when they’re aiming for precision or “woah, we don’t need that damn wall of text” when they’re aiming for clarity. Bwauahaha, a purple to yellow perfect on an objectively difficult one. That said, as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol at all, that purple category was a process of elimination. Lucky me remembering RAM stood for something.
