Some interesting (but flawed) UX-design on the Fediverse sharing opt-in modal on threads.net.

If your screen is tall and the modal content has no overflow, you can’t move on. Had to shrink the window and give it a scroll for the button to enable. 😅

All this time later, and I only just now noticed that when you switch the first and last letters of "Morn" who sat at the end of Quark's bar on DS9, you get "Norm" who sat at the end of the bar on Cheers.

Hello!

I swtiched to a new (old) instance so tradition dictates I re-introduce myself: My name is Tom I'm a data vis/ web developer living in North London. You may have seen my work (maps, charts, polltrackers, swingometers etc.) on the ~20 elections I covered for BBC News & The FT between 2004 and 2017.

Nowadays I work on climate science and policy data vis for Carbon Brief.

Worky stuff aside I post mainly about bikes, board games and books.
