#ArtAdventCalender day 9
Today, I'm sharing a piece from a project that helped me find my artistic voice. It's still one of my all time favorites: Particle Art!
I created these with code and inspiration from Chemistry and Physics. As the simulation ran, the image developed and I saved it when it was 'done'.
Couldn't help crying a bit, watching this from Shane McGowan's funeral. So beautiful and sad.
"Fairytale of New York"
I'm a nobody, but I'd love a send-off with this kind of spirit when it's my time.
I’m putting my manifestation visualization out there. In 2024 I want an artist’s studio. Close by and affordable. 😂
I can't remember exactly how far into my Computer Science graduate studies I was before I finally turned to my partner and said "I can't do this all anymore. Either I quit grad school, or you start helping more".
If we really want more diversity in Science, Tech, Art, Everything, men have to step up at home too.
Since the Genuary 'prompt list' is so disappointing, I'm going to use my SciArt Prompt Generator for my creative coding inspiration.
I think I'll use it to randomly pick a prompt for each time I want a challenge.
Would you like to join me? Or just suggest prompts to add? Or both?
Let's crowdsource this.
Reply with your prompt idea, and if you'd like to be credited for it on the project page: https://artatomic.itch.io/prompts
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 9
I work and play with data. Sometimes, I just play.
A while ago, I noticed that Samantha Bee wore different jackets in her show. I thought it could be fun to create a small data set about those jackets and make a fun viz.
When I got the chance to meet her, I quickly made a printable version of a cute chart of her jacket colors. There is nothing quite like the joy of someone liking your nerdy little art projects.
That weird feeling, when you don't think you're good at math but you're watching a show and a character is scribbling 'math' and you realize it's just gibberish. And you wonder how anyone could think that it could pass as anything an actual mathematician would actually scribble.
Has anyone else had trouble logging into Deel? With Firefox?
Trying to get paid for a small contract, and I can't get past the circular login, enter authentication code, login, enter....
What an amazing artist has passed today. I'm guessing that lots of my friends here already know about Vera Molnar's work.
In case you don't, here's her wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Moln%C3%A1r
"Molnar is widely considered to be a pioneer of computer art and generative art..."
I hope that her website will be maintained: http://www.veramolnar.com/
Lot's of lovely people came together this year to create a generative advent calendar. Today's door is my little script: https://generativeadvent.itch.io/generative-advent-2023
I'm really looking forward to the Monk reboot.

Thinking about more rooms in the pattern I've been playing with over the last few days of #inkyDays drawings.
It's a new month, so I'm starting new posts for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi. I'll be posting this month's in-progress and finished drawings in these posts.
