@UncleJimmy Uncle Jimmy,

As a new entry to the I need to ask, and I mean no offense.

Is this today's photo of Marley?

If so I think he is a contender for the leader board, but if this is NOT todays photo, by all means put Marley on that couch, the day is not over.

We will await your response..

The son who avoided a TBI this morning has delivered! As promised, Cupcake is on her back in play-off form taking full advantage of the perfect combination of full sun, perfect temperatures, and a cool breeze.

Pinchy is definitely over-performing in her favorite indoor nap spot. She's typically in a tight curl, so the full extension curl with chin perched on paws is a high degree of difficulty and a real stretch for her.

Another tortoise shell cat napping in an elongated curl on a blue sheepskin in a modern chair.

@mrcompletely @wobs

Yeah, Pinchy takes the lead, let me update the leader board

tor_haxson,
@tor_haxson@heads.social avatar

@wobs it has everything, a simple move with an added flourish, a location, a composition.

Is Lily still in that box? Because this place is getting hot.

How Hot?

Hotter than the sphere that is for sure, I mean who could sleep in a place like that?

Update !!

Bad news for Eve, Lily is still in the box.

Anyone's game to be honest, a little belly fur, a tail-to-nose the day is young.

Here is the leader board.

  1. Lily
  2. Eve
  3. Esther
  4. Jumpy

I watch a lot of TV while sitting with my Mom.

Happy Mothers Day everyone.

Hitting the dregs with Martha Stewarts latest Garden Series.

OMG, it is like an access TV show at times. Obviously she is not taking much outside advice.

It is a lot like, "rich eccentric lady plays around with money and land"

She discussed the price of mahogany for raised garden beds !!

Her friends, are.. well they want the advertising, or the $$

It is not all bad, but enough bad to make it fun.

tor_haxson,
@tor_haxson@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely

In her defense, she went with white oak, but the fact that she mentioned mahogany is just ridiculous. Any sane content editor would have cut that out.

So set your clothes, or shoes, or shoeboxes or piles of assorted stuff in the sunny spot, and get ready.

Work on your Curls, Otterpaws, BasketLegs, Long Stretches and Cat-stacks.

It will be pretty exciting.

Bigger than Derby Day, almost as long as a cricket match.

Charge your cell phone cameras, be ready to record audio in case of snoring.

It will be wild.

On May 16th, Dead & Co begin a historic run at the Sphere. I asked my cats how they intend to celebrate.

Girl Trouble:
Fuck Those Clowns.
Every show is like 6-25-94 now.
So Vegas is appropriate. I will ignore this and sleep all day.

StroopWaffel:
I think I will sleep mostly.

The other cats were more or less of the same opinion,

So while the Boys (or what's left of them) play inside a giant cellphone screen.

We will be having a 5-16-24

Hi MSTDN,

About 3 weeks ago I gathered a thrashing squirrel off the highway and brought him home.

I didn't post about him much, because I suspected an unhappy ending, and who needs to hear that.

But little critters are tenacious, and Arvey (R-V, short for Rabies Vector) is going to be released tomorrow.

He sits upright, is appropriately frantic. He may not be perfect, but his chances are good.

An No, he never really learned to like us.

@caravan

Are you new to Chicago?

Everyone talks, good and bad about the pizza.

But the "Chicago Italian Beef" is also worth a mention.

I did "Al's" which felt like a chain, but some local said it was a reasonable choice.

Last week though I had one at Jimmy's Gyros & Grill, on Adams in the loop and it was killer.

I am NOT a local, but I get to Chicago fairly regularly

As May ’77 madness comes ‘round again, bolstered this year by the release of 1.5 more May ’77 shows (Dave’s 50 shipping now), I encourage you to check out two hours of jammy highlights from the tour’s first two shows on April 22-23, in Philadelphia and Springfield.

If you find May ’77 too “same-y,” I think you’ll find this music less so. Second and third performances of "Fire!"

Phil goes Bwoop a lot in 76/77

What is the consensus opinion* regarding Phil doing that Bweep, bweep thing on the base, where he slides in or out of the note.

It is a sure fire way to date a song but besides that, I dunno. Give me a Bomb, over a Bwoop any day.

*Just joking, I know there is never a consensus ;-)

tor_haxson,

@bourgwick

Was this peak "Brent takes the lead" era? Or did he also have a resurgence during the "Blow Away" era, 88-90.

For example, Dear Mr Fantasy bustout, 6-14-84 felt very Brent Driven, the way I recall it was the band was leaving stage for Drums, but Brent started playing DMF, Jerry started to put down his guitar, but picked it back up and joined in.

tor_haxson,
@tor_haxson@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @bourgwick

For my part, in terms of Brent Support..

I was able to make about 5 rather punk rock-ish "Brent Rulz" shirts.

iirc the printing was with popsicle sticks glued to wood blocks. Sloppy block printing. Or possibly by hand with non-mounted popsicle sticks.

I only tried to sell them at Pittsburgh 1987.*

An older head bought one, and agreed with the "Brent Rulz" sentiment.

Not sure if this had a ripple effect or not, but one can hope.

tor_haxson,
@tor_haxson@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @bourgwick

Who would have thought that the best investment ever was to buy a vanful of t-shirts in 85.

That shirt making session was fun, we tie dyed up a bunch of random dies, no spirals no consistency.

Then we got out the screen print inks, and the block prints I had done a few years earlier, and just went for it.

A toxic kitchen disaster, and some goofy shirts were the result.

tor_haxson,
@tor_haxson@heads.social avatar

Great moments in "Police Intelligence"

Deadheads eat acid !!!
Reggae bands smoke weed !!!

Both obvious facts..

The one piece of police intelligence that I thought was actually somewhat impressive was this..

At a border crossing, Canadian border agents take Swiss Army knife, a respectable camping item, and immediately open the reamer to check for, and find resin. And then search the van.

If I went to the Venice Biennale I would have to make a rule.

For every hour where I make fun of things, I also spend an hour being serious.

Of course it would be hard in so many ways. Because if I was there, obviously I would have spent a shit-ton of $$$ to be there, so making fun of the wealth driven art world would be sort of recursive.

That said, you all should google up some photos of what is up in Venice.

Random thoughts..

Some critters when placed within a certain system thrive.

The same critters when placed within a different system suffer.

I dunno, without getting specific that seems to apply to.

  1. The squirrel I am trying to rehabilitate who moves into a bigger container today to test his mobility.

  2. Us, people, humans, who have redesigned their information delivery system.

All I can say is..
I really hope I don't have to euthanize that squirrel.
